One of the most important populations of Maned wolf lives in Iberá. Here, we started a project to study the species using VHF and GPS technology —for the first time for the species— and to design strategies to recover this beautiful animal.''

''We were invited to conduct an innovative and extremely important project for the management and conservation of the maned wolf, a threatened species by the alteration of its habitat: the unprecedented experiment of rehabilitation and release of animals of the species in the wild Cerrado of western Bahia. This will be the second experience like this carried out in the country (Brazil) with the largest canid in South America. The first occurred in the Serra da Canastra.
In September, through an indication from ICMBio, we received three orphaned maned wolves pups taken to the Park by INEMA. We accepted this challenge and together with our partner institutions @institutoprocarnivoros (through the @amigodolobo project), University of Brasília, @zoobrasilia, Irmãos Gatto Agro, Galvani and the community, we will rehabilitate the animals so that they can be reintegrated into nature. The entire rehabilitation process and the awaited release moment will be shared on our social networks. Be sure to follow us.''
''Today we had the capture of our fifth Maned wolf of 2013. The first of this expedition. He was the 68th wolf captured in the Lobos da Canastra project since 2004.
Bolt, a male with an estimated age between 7 and 8 years old, he is the heaviest Maned Wolf known in the wild, he weights 33 kg. He's one of the largest animals captured in the project, he was fitted with a collar with a satellite transmitter that will send us twice a day its positions recorded every hour. This information will help in new strategies to be traced for the conservation of the species.

''There are a number of great places to see Maned Wolf in Brazil and more being found! Still, this is an endangered species and won't last long unless the Cerrado is preserved.
This Maned Wolf in Serra da Canastra National Park in Brazil was walking towards me and I hid in the tall grass. When it arrived it went straight to me and I took this pic at a distance of less than 2 meters.''
