Newbig5: " “People are definitely having to push the boundaries in terms of seeking out unusual subjects or trying new techniques to get images that haven’t been seen before, because all the low-hanging fruit has been done a long time ago. People are looking for either technological advances to do new things, or more obscure species and going to more rare places to photograph things that will capture people's attention.”

Listen to our podcast with wildlife photographer and @newbig5project supporter Will Burrard-Lucas (@willbl) in the Podcasts section of the New Big 5 website. Link in Bio.
The New Big 5 project is an international initiative to create a New Big 5 of Wildlife Photography: the Big 5 of photography, rather than hunting. Shooting with a camera, not a gun.
Supported by +100 photographers, conservationists, wildlife lovers and charities, including Save The Elephants, WWF, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, African Wildlife Foundation, Saving The Wild, WildAid, Wildlife SOS, Save Wild Orangutans, Conservation International, Polar Bears International, Defenders Of Wildlife and Greenpeace…
VOTE (on the New Big 5 website) for the 5 animals you want to be included in the New Big 5 of Wildlife Photography.
The old big 5 was based on the 5 toughest animals in Africa for colonial hunters to shoot and kill. The New Big 5 of wildlife photography will include animals from around the world.
Which animals will make the New Big 5?
#newbig5
The world’s wildlife is in crisis. More than a million species are currently at risk of extinction, from icons to ‘unsung heroes’.
The New Big 5 website has podcasts, interviews, articles and photography, and a free educational Fun Pack for young people. "

This time of year is always an extremely special time to visit game reserves. It’s the rainy seasons, and impalas are known to time their births for when the rains come. This gives their young the best chances of survival, as food is plentiful. And so it is really fun driving around and seeing cute baby impalas everywhere.

April 28th was Caatinga biome day in Brazil and here is my tribute for this amazing and unique biome.

The Caatinga. Biome 100% brazilian with unique biodiversity and animals which some animals even may adapt itself to fit in this unique biome including many amazing rupestrian paintings done by the ancient residents of the area.

''Despite the adverse conditions, the caatinga biome presents great biodiversity. It is estimated that around 323 plant species and 327 animal species are endemic to the region, according to WWF-Brazil. One of these species is the Blue Macaw, the bird most at risk of extinction in the world. Also living in the Caatinga is the Blue Macaw of Lear, the second most endangered in the country. Although not endemic to the region another bird is the symbol of the Caatinga: the Caracara. The bird of prey is easily found in this biome and became popular throughout the country for inspiring lyrics that talk about the backlands of the Northeast.

Among the plant species, the mandacaru, the xique-xique, and the juazeiro stand out, all of them specially adapted to the particular climatic conditions of the Caatinga, showing the great diversity and richness found in this piece of nature.''

In the herd of red cows at Huai Kha Khaeng, if observed closely, there are often streaked bodies - with small white spots like freckles inserted in the reddish-brown skin. which has been recorded for a long time since the time of Dr. Boonsong Lekakul This white female red calf is around 4-5 months old. This is spotted, not albino. It can be seen from the eyes of the spotted animal. It is normal black. Albino's eyes are red or pink. Having white for a person might feel like a dominant feature. But in fact, it is caused by inferior genes that stand out. causing it to be inferior when living in the forest may be weaker It is easier to be seen by predators. The chances of being hunted are greater.... But even then, it survived until it grew up. and have offspring with normal colors like common red bulls The book "Wildlife Huai Kha Khaeng"=AZWxtsh2U1Jk67zI_1gG5SUuzfwHzdovMLmQ0g8MjNZxDuQ8KHyj8NjwwGjjIT--54MpLrz8epnNFZJTQDX-0LQEKE3WVea3rXrAkmtrlJHSi8jtReyrAcJUNMZp3_eMRajUGqP4bqvKWRJdS0ZidFgO&__tn__=-]C%2CP-R]Narong Suwannarong
