I have to also post this huge male from Torres del Paine, easily in the 90s kg weight range or above 100 kgs. Some dominant males from the area have specialized in hunting wild horses rather than guanacos, I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of them.

I really like their paws shape its very big related to its body imo, I also like their longer hind legs which enable them to do those freak high jumps.

Caatinga pumas are no joke either in terms of definition, look at the impressive shoulders of this Caatinga Puma.

Very athletic.

In the USA, puma's kill much more animals than they need to. The reason is over 50% of their kills is confiscated by (black) bears (...). When bears emerge from their dens, they actively seek out puma kills. Although bears are not the only reason, pumas respond by hunting smaller animals (animals that can be consumed in one sitting) in summer.

Why don't pumas defend their kills? Every now and then, they do. In California, a youngish adult female was displaced by a medium-sized female black bear. Some time later, she returned and probably surprised the female black bear. The bear didn't survive the encounter:

http://voices.nationalgeographic.com/2014/11/01/mountain-lions-versus-black-bears/

This case, however, was quite exceptional, as pumas, according to all recent studies, are routinely displaced by (black) bears. If we add wolves (in Canada in particular) are serious competitors as well, the conclusion is pumas struggle.

Quote: The usurpation of puma kills was not without risk, as in one instance a puma killed a subadult black bear that had been feeding on its kill.

This specific tom known as "Chuck Norris" is claimed by the trackers to be the largest cougar capture by camera trapping on Texas. As you all can see he is indeed massive (first footage of each post):

More data on him, he's been feeding predominantly on introduced Barbary sheep and peccary

@Lycaon he's by far the most impressive cougar I have seen, rivaling the large toms from Patagonia and easily close to or above 100 kg in weight imo.
