Help with Comparison - Sicilianu - 10-24-2016

Hello, I really want to start creating comparisons. I want to make a large one comparing all members of genus Canis, including major subspecies of C. lupus. Any tips and good resources? I am having trouble with getting nice sharp edges on wolves once extracted. Also I want to use some sort of measuring stick or ruler but I am not sure how to make it.

Thanks in advance!

For images, You should follow various social media pages related to species. You can visit forum section for images. Above all, google is your best friend search the images by using various similar popular keywords related to animal name. Name the animals, hopefully we can help you to get the images.
If you are planning to measure animals by seeing the pics than it is very very hard thing. As mentioned above by pckts, Guate, @peter, @tigerluver and @GrizzlyClaws can give you some nice tips
Wish you good luck and waiting to see images

Hi @Sicilianu , what program do you plan to use? If you don't have photoshop, you can use pizap. Either/or, I'll help you out once I know what program you're using.

I have photoshop. I have already compiled many lateral views of the majority of subspecies. Any good online resources or videos?:

Do you know how to cut out the part of image you want? To do so, I use the quick selection or magic wand tool. Then you hit cut out as new layer. You can smoothen the edges by right clicking the selection and hitting refine if I remember correctly. Then you choose the degree of smoothness. There are many sources online if you google the subject. I can find you some specific sources if you'd like.

Do all members of the Canis genus also include domesticated canines or just wild wolf subspecies?

Yes I know how to cut it out. It just always comes out really messy. I will see if I can find the refine tool.

I plan on including primitive breeds and members of prominent feral dog populations. I plan on using my doberman as a frame of reference.
