According to Lion's of Timbavati Facebook page, the male lion is father of the Black Dam male. He seems to have been a loner too.

He was absolutely impressive.

But what this guy was doing was so dumb, like if these lions attack him, then they would be shot to death, its okay if this guy wants to risk his life for money and fame, but dont risk lives of these lions.

Yeah, unfortunately they have to make everything suspenseful and create tension for no apparent reason (I don't get the point of why this guy is trying to approach a pride of lions with cubs on foot; exactly what does that prove?). I partly blame Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter) for this trend and he ultimately paid the price for it but his shows had the ratings.

I see your point but 99% of people won't watch a wildlife related show without the suspense or tension. I wouldn't really criticizes Steve Irwin, probably got more eyes on the real issues than anyone else.

The Giraffe Male...

The King our pride and joy of the south of the Thornybush concession, the “giraffe male” as an ID (coming from the giraffe pride) is a beast! This photo was taken last year mid winter, notice how brown and dry the bush is. This cat is not afraid of defending what is rightfully his the Black dam pride.

Happy World Lion day from Kings Camp. We have been very lucky the last few days with two male Lions bringing down a big male Giraffe so they have been feeding for quite some time! Grant will put some pictures of the feeding a little later but for now here's one of Grants pictures to celebrate the importance of the Lion worldwide.

RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tr1x24 - 04-11-2020

The old River pride males known as Hondo (The black one) And Xantshema (The warlord.) They has been seen in Motswari Private Game Reserve.
Altough they has been dominant in the River pride and the Dundee Pride the most Probably they are dominant in other Parts of the Reserve or otherwise are nomad Males.

These Males are the Father of the Nharhu Males. We talking about the Two river pride boys (Slitnose And His brother), Originally of 5 males and yes joined by the one male who came from the north and Dundee pride (Injured Nharhu) Formed a coalition of Three Strong males.. However the Dundee and River Pride are historically one pride and interact and join together. The River pride is 6 females , two of which move between the Dundee and the river pride. The most dominant of these female is the one with the two and half year old sub adult males who have joined an older Dundee sub adult male and who we have been seeing in the North. This dominant female is the female who is spending time with the two dominant males in the region at the moment ( the impalabos male and his coalition partner)

Apparently these two are the Nharhu Male Lions, relaxing in the shade of a tree. They are dominant over two prides in the Timbavati, the River pride (made up of 4 females and 3 cubs) and the Timbavati Pride. They are between 5 - 5 and a half years old.
