Additionally, one can see a lion-like figure amongst the animals in this piece of rock art, similar to what is depicted here (http://saudi-archaeology.com/subjects/lion/):

About the Greek or Roman-looking lion figures in the middle, one should bear in mind that the ancient Greeks (https://snarla.wordpress.com/2007/08/31/arabian-lions/) and Romans had contact with the Arabs, and the Romans even ruled a northwestern section of the Arabian Peninsula as part of what was known as "Arabia Petræa" (https://www.unrv.com/provinces/arabia.php, https://www.britannica.com/place/Arabia-Petraea).

@Lycaon :

About #1115: really a very good photo ! I love it... The male lion's front paw details, and seemingly after the rain,  perfect !

This male seems to have impressive front leg, nice to see when mane is not hiding upper part of it as so often is the case.

@Shadow  and @Spalea

I also thought this male is solid.

This handsome Asian lion, Mohan passed away December 2018, I saw it many times and damn it was big and handsome. When it died it was 16,5 years old, weighed 182,5 kg, when I asked from zoo, they said that it was about 220 kg in his prime condition. In opposite enclosure there are siberian tigers and I have to say, that Mohan didn´t look like to be smaller in any way when going from one enclosure to another. It got cubs, hopefully some future generations descending from it would be able to run free and wild some day. It is one of the best looking Asian lions I have ever seen.

@Rishi :

About #1115 and #1122: About the two photo of the same lion seeming rather "solid" as @Lycaon said. At the #1115, I have believed this photo was taken after a rain, the grass is very green and I had the impression that this male lion had his mane wet and coagulated, a little bit as he had received a buket of water over his head. But at the #1122 photo, I see he is poorly maned on top of his head and neck.

Nevertheless he is still a powerful male ! It's the most important...

Yes, that is Korkeasaari zoo in Helsinki. Mohan was father of many cubs during his life.
