The laws of nature are often unkind when tiny animals come across larger, fiercer creatures. When an apex predator discovers a defenseless, weaker prey in the wild, the hierarchy of the food chain comes into play, and the results are far from pretty.
But someone forgot to tell this to Mäuschen, an 800 pound asiatic bear, and her adorable house cat friend, Muschi.

As horrible as the tiger temples are in Thailand, those are some big indochinese tigers.

Okay, not technically, but they do have the ability to jump pretty high! Check out how much air our largest tiger was able to get while trying to capture the pot of gold piñata!

Carolina Tiger Rescue
In addition to being one of the best-known large mammals, tigers are the largest and strongest of the big cats. Tigers can weigh up to 700 pounds, and they have extremely large paws that can be big enough to cover a dinner plate! Just one swipe from a tiger’s paw is powerful enough to break your neck. They also boast retractable claws just like your house cat, which allows them to silently stalk their prey.
The tigers here at Carolina Tiger Rescue are using their huge paws to help save wild tigers as part of a research project called WildTrack. Their paw prints are analyzed to help develop a software program that can recognize individual tigers in the wild, just from their paw prints! This tool is invaluable to field researchers.
Please Note: At Carolina Tiger Rescue, we never enter an enclosure with a big cat unless they are completely anesthetized. This photo was taken during a veterinary procedure."

Carolina Tiger Rescue They are. Tigers, depending on the subspecies, weigh between 400 and 700 lbs, while lions tend to fall between 400 and 500 lbs. So overall, tigers are absolutely the world's largest wildcat smile emoticon The tiger pictured above was about 650 lbs!

Doc stops to smell the roses, errrr, Christmas trees... He is the largest tiger at Noah's Ark, weighing in at over 550lbs. Although Bengal tigers have a conservation status of “endangered” in the wild, they are extremely inbred and over populated in captivity due to cub petting venues that exploit tiny cubs for profit and the popularity and mass inbreeding of white tigers. Doc was one of the "surplus" cubs born at a midwest animal park, and when he was too large to be used for photo opportunities, the breeder didn’t want him. Surplus animals like Doc face a grim future when they outgrow their cute and cuddly stage, and are usually sold to circuses, roadside zoos, private owners or canned hunting facilities. We are so thankful that Doc ended up here. He has an incredible "lovebug" personality and is an instant favorite of many of our visitors once the meet this charming boy.

Don't know what's on the other side of that camera but that looks like a REALLY small space for a tiger. My dog has a bigger backyard than that.
