RE: Lion pictures and videos - Tshokwane - 09-21-2016 Credits to Hyena Project - Ngorongoro. In contrast to popular believe, spotted hyenas rarely take over kills from lions. In fact, the opposite is more frequent and hyenas regularly lose their food to lions, particularly when they compete with an adult male lion. On this video, it is quite impressive to see how a group of twenty-five hyenas abandon the kill without any hesitation when they see the lion approaching. RE: Lion pictures and videos - stoja9 - 09-21-2016 ONE male lion sends 20-25 hyenas running for the hills. Awesome and amazing. RE: Lion pictures and videos - GrizzlyClaws - 10-01-2016 Lioness made a mistake in handling the giraffe. *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lion pictures and videos - Siegfried - 10-01-2016 In the video of the hyenas scattering, the jackals didn't seem nearly as scared. RE: Lion pictures and videos - Spalea - 10-01-2016 @Siegfried: About #593: Jackals are not perceived as being a threat by the male lions. And they known it. RE: Lion pictures and videos - Gamiz - 10-02-2016 Love this shot, unusual angle but very affective. The photographer, Rhino Post Safari Lodge, said this about the photo: I like the look of strength and vulnerability. Saw him early morning this week sleeping on the road between Satara and Orpen. He had a younger, greyer brother nearby. *This image is copyright of its original author
