That would work!

Wildfact is an incredible resource with lots of knowledgeable posters who have unique knowledge and valuable insights. I think it would be a step in the right direction for the forum to expand upon the article section, possibly making a separate page entirely for blog posts (like the wildlife tour section). These could range from quick summaries of topics to longer expansive pieces. In my mind this could be more appealing to a non forum oriented browser, who may find scrolling through the many pages of discussion daunting. Of course these would only be done by the top quality posters, and would represent the forum in a professional manor. I'm aware many of us are busy with work and study, so I suggest something like a quality article once a month on a topic a reputable poster is passionate writing about. This also expands the wildfact brand from that of a well run forum with a goldmine of informational nuggets, to a genuine resource regarding the topics of zoology/palaeontology/ecology/conservation etc.

That's just my view though, and I trust Peter and Sanjay fully in how they run the forum as they have done a great job for almost 8 years now.

Thank you @Sully for such encouraging words.

Our members are the reason WildFact is where it is today, not me or Peter alone. Members like you have contributed tons of helpful information for people interested in wildlife. The mods made it more organized and helped us grow it. Without all these contributions, WildFact would have fallen.

Regarding your suggestion, We had tried this (Informative blog post) on our main domain (wildfact.com, as you can see till date WildFact is in the /forum/ directory and not on our main domain). Tigerluver and Peter posted a few posts and we published them, but posting original/good/long content is not easy for everyone. So due to lack of continuous and timely posts, we had to shut down the Blog.

Wildlife tour is third party code that I implemented to make some income so that I can pay website bills. But till date it has not generated any money and I am seriously thinking of removing it.

If you want, you can do this in any section of the forum. Just make a detailed thread and we will not allow further posts in that thread. Therefore, a section where a thread exists but without any posts or responses.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Regards

Are we going to open the lion weights thread back up?

Our mod Lycaon will clean the thread and open it when he's done.

Lycaon, by the way, was promoted to global mod. He now is responsible for lion and tiger threads.

If you see trouble coming (referring to members guided by agendas), contact him right away.

Just a suggestion - for greater transparency around bans, perhaps a moderator should edit a ban reason into the last post the banned member made?

From now on, there will be a post in the Forum Rules section every time a member is banned. Same for warnings and good advice.

The Good
WildFact is an incredible forum with some REALLY rare and amazing info. The work done here by Peter, Sanjay, Rolfcopters and others is just... God be praised! I mean if you type 'tiger predation' into Google, the WildFact page is either first or second. Also, WF is the rare if not ONLY animal forum where lion and tiger enthusiasts, not only coexist peacefully and like each others' post on lions and tigers. Also credits to the lion fans of this forum, as a huge bulk of posts on this forum on are on lions. This forum has over 76+ million views (which is increasing) and that says a lot!
The Bad
Like I said, the vast majority of the incredible info on this forum is on big cats. That is great but people should realize that without the humble wildebeest and wild boar, the lion and the tiger would go extinct. Even megafauna like Elephants, rhinos and apes have very little info on this forum (in comparison to big cats). I assure this not a dig at big cat enthuasists, as it is obvious why dangerous carnivores like leopards and lions fascinate humans so much.
Suggestions
Post on animals other than big cats. Give the readers more variety
This is a personal suggestion
I think there should be a subforum called 'Primatology and Anthropology' since the research on non-human primates are vast and extensive.

Thanks for the comment, Hyena! Appreciated.

As to the advice offered: we agree. The problem is only few of those posting seem interested in herbivores, reptiles, birds, insects and primates.
