See pictures and information regarding the "black-maned" Cape lion of South Africa, which had such an extensive mane that it covered the belly, like the Barbary lion of the Maghreb (Northwest Africa): https://wildfact.com/forum/topic-lions-in-south-africa-zimbabwe-and-namibia?pid=89856#pid89856

Yes it's true, the Cape lion was famous for its black mane , like the Barbary lion...
If you look at a climatic map of the African Continent, you see that both extrem north and south were under the mediteranean climate. Warm during the day, softer during the night and with seasons during the year. Added to this that Cape lions and Barbary lions lived at altitude, perhaps this is an explanation...

An ordinary meal among the lions... South Africa.

@BorneanTiger :

About #1236: The movie start like an other one already known here... Two lions entering the water, one croc attack the former, the latter intervenes to save its fellow... The video you show is a video editing...

Look at this one, you will understand:

Sometimes uninvited guests can be annoying..... older incident, but nice photos and story.

Who invited YOU?! The moment a crocodile tries to crash a lion’s dinner party

After some confusion, lions made it loud and clear, that this meal is meant only for lions.

Male lion disciplines cubs and lioness isn´t happy at all with that... and then manages to.... make a fool out of herself Wink There are moments when even top predators are less graceful.

Face it, I’m in charge: Angry lioness attacks lion after he takes a swipe at her cubs

"The male lion paid little attention to the incident and strolled on after the mother fell to the ground

‘As he was half a meter away, she pounced on him. She did loose her grip though and quickly fell to the other side of him.

‘With the female at his paws on the ground he just glanced down, as though to say: ‘Was that it?’.

‘He just kept on walking past her and us sitting in the Cruiser, and lay down to rest close to a thicket behind us.

‘The cubs quickly saw the opportunity of mum laying on her side, ran towards her and started suckling.’"

RE: Lion pictures and videos - Shadow - 08-24-2019

About posting #1238 @BorneanTiger, that is no live stream from some camera in Africa. That is self made stream/a very long loop of random videos and most people just get annoyed to see hours of video footage, which has no sense really. @Sauron said it in a bit harsh way, but that is how many feel when opening that video, they feel like getting cheated. What is delivered isn´t what is told.

Live cams are interesting, but that kind of videos aren´t. People like to know what they can expect when opening some video, so headline/description should be really about it, what it is. Pay attention in future to check the video before posting it.

the tigers at the Norwegian Zoo are gigantic, but no monsters. the biggest of them are Ulysses 200+kg. smallest Rex 190 +kg.
Aslan does dwarf rex so does Ulysses. Aslan is more Massive than Ulysses, but he would not strike you as a much larger animal to be honest, much larger head though.

Hi @Pantherinae , Have you ever measured Aslan at withers,He seems to have a giant frame
