The Asiatic Lioness strolling around the safari route at Gir National Park & Sanctuary. Gir is one of those few parks in India which are very well-managed in terms of tourist facilities as well as wildlife conservation. Out of entire Gir, around 10% of geographical area is allocated for tourists visiting Gir. As of now, tourism zone is divided into 13 routes most of which overlap with each other or are reverse of one another. In the english-french dictionary "blue bull" is translated by nilgai (more precisely an other name of nilgai), but I doubt of that by watching the photo...
It is quite possible that other lions killed the Nilgai or something else caused it's death but it is definitely a bull Nilgai - one can see white fur patch under the head, starting of the neck, which common in most bull nilgai.

Now that is southeastern Europe. If the lion didn't inhabit southwestern Europe, then I wonder why people from Italy or Spain in the Bronze Age would make a lion statue?

That southern Italian or Spanish lion statue from the Bronze Age (https://tcaabudhabi.ae/DataFolder/reports/2017%20Annual%20report%20-%20EN.pdf) wasn't the only lion statue or piece of art that the Louvre Abu Dhabi had, from places where lions wouldn't be seen nowadays, here are my own photos of lions in ancient or prehistoric Arabian art, from Saudi Arabia or Yemen:
