RE: Lion pictures and videos - Fredymrt - 12-13-2017 Credits to Nadja Pilz AFRICA GEOGRAPHIC BLOG Adorable sighting: Lion cubs at play Posted on 12 December, 2017 by Croc Valley Camp, South Luangwa, Wildlife, Zambia *This image is copyright of its original author The cubs playing with South Luangwa’s famous lion Ginger © Nadja Pilz / Croc Valley CampIt is the latest offspring of South Luangwa’s iconic male lion coalition Ginger and Garlic, who share a rather extraordinary bond of brotherly love and actively breed and raise cubs in their conjoint territory. As both male lions share the mating rights with females of their prides, it is hard to make conclusions of which lion is the biological father of the present litter. Both lions seem to tolerate and interact with the cubs in a gentle and non-threatening manner. *This image is copyright of its original author Ginger quite at ease with a young cub playing on him © Nadja Pilz / Croc Valley CampThis is quite an unusual arrangement within the lion kingdom, as male lions are notorious to kill the offspring sired by other males in order to spread their own genetics. *This image is copyright of its original author The cubs left alone to themselves, posing for photos © Nadja Pilz / Croc Valley CampLike all children, the South Luangwa cubs love to play and recently made for an amazing sighting when teasing their dad (or maybe step-dad?) Ginger, who couldn’t resist but joining the game. *This image is copyright of its original author The cubs enjoy some time alone © Nadja Pilz / Croc Valley CampMeanwhile, Garlic and the pride’s females were catching a snooze in the surrounding bushes.

RE: Lion pictures and videos - Tshokwane - 12-19-2017 Credits to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. The battle for dominance continues to heat up at Kwandwe! After following the sound of a lion roaring early this morning Marc,Nic and I were were taken completely by suprise as first the Dark Male and then the South Male came trotting right past us in hot pursuit! The South Male chased the Dark Male intitially before they had one brief scuffle and the tables turned and he was chased back the way they had come. Some distance later and clearly both exhuasted they both lay down some distance apart in a stalemate as the temperature increased. Guess where we're going this afternoon...... *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lion pictures and videos - Tshokwane - 12-20-2017 Credits to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. A thrilling scene to witness, Dark male lion chases the resident South pride male lion after what must have been a lengthly show down starting sometime earlier that morning. Some exciting lion action ahead of us! Marc Click on it to play. RE: Lion pictures and videos - Rishi - 12-20-2017 Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. RE: Lion pictures and videos - Spalea - 12-20-2017 About #969: As concerns the length of the horns, we cannot compare the Asian rhinos and the African rhinos... Absolutely not. And this rhino, followed by her cub is more than probably a female.
