RE: Size comparisons - Balam - 07-22-2020 Based on all the new recent jaguar data, I decided to make a comparison between Pantanal jaguar and its closest felid relative in size, the Sumatran tiger, as both animals are often compared between one and other. The data for Sumatran tigers is more scarce and less updated, nonetheless what we do have of them is decent enough to provide measurements: *This image is copyright of its original author Any feedback and thoughts are always appreciated, thanks . RE: Size comparisons - Balam - 07-26-2020 "Yesterday I posted a photo fusion from a camera trap and thought I would share one more. All 4 of these animals walked the same ground in the same location at different times and were caught by the same camera trap! This was in one of the most diverse areas on the planet in" *This image is copyright of its original author By shizzyswildcatrescue RE: Size comparisons - Dark Jaguar - 07-27-2020 @OncaAtrox nice size comparison the Lynxs are really tall. anyways Adriano looks amazing on your size comparison with the sumatran tiger though . RE: Size comparisons - DinoFan83 - 08-04-2020 Just for the sake of comparison, here's how the skulls of an equivalently sized Sarkastodon and Eustreptospondylus stack up, both of them being jaw based predators. The difference in skull size is quite surprising, especially considering they would have hunted similarly tough prey in a similar fashion. Credit to Blazze92 for the Sarkastodon and Qilong for the Eustreptospondylus. *This image is copyright of its original author

Classic shots. @Balam In case you didn't know You know that Dark Jaguar got kicked out of that team right? His name was ''Nigger'' and being a jaguar which normally are too reluctant to ''obey'' human orders the same way as tigers and lions do, he was a headache ''to do what he was told to'' to the point they removed him from the big cats group of the Circus. http://circusnospin.blogspot.com/2008/07/how-much-animal-sceneclimate-has_30.html?m=1 ''This is Mable Stark with her "world famous, first time ever, never before seen" black Jaguar. From accounts he made a limited appearance at Madison Square Garden, and wasn't used much after that. His name was the terrible, demeaning, racist, "N" word!!!! And it is printed in it entirety in any material on the subject of Mable Stark. Those are two of her "jungle killer Sumatran tigers. The group exhibiting an "incredible" behavior, which I am "assuming" took many, many, many months of careful "training" to accomplish. '' Personally I like this very reluctant behavior of jaguars to not follow humans orders as much as what is expected for whoever is trying to tame/dominate them. *This image is copyright of its original author
