RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tr1x24 - 11-28-2019 (11-28-2019, 12:43 PM)Potato Wrote: I have some difficulty with puting there video from the scuffle between Mapoza and Xikukutsu, but if you' re intrested go to that page: Is this recent? In the latest footages 2 Xikukutsu looked much bigger with bigger manes then on this video. And yea, stupid guide driving that close to a moving lion and eventualy scaring him... RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 11-28-2019 Photo of the scufle was posted 2 days ago by lodge page so I presume it is recent. Video was posted by user so I do not know. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 11-30-2019 New kids on the block. One of a new coalition of three males that have taken up residence @tanda.tula in the #Timbavati over the past few months, taking away a fair size chunk of the Mbiri males’ former territory. Will be some interesting times ahead in the lion world of this area... *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 12-02-2019 A few weeks ago after the rains, the Vuyela males made a short appearance from Klaserie Game Reserve. A coalition of five brothers and possibly a force to be reconded with in the future if they remain together... *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 12-02-2019 Video from NThambo Tree Camp Justin Sullivan spent some time filming in the Klaserie, and was present at a few of the same sightings as our videographer, Rogan Kerr. This is one of Justin's videos of the Vuyelas tucking into their favourite menu item - giraffe. When the Vuyelas eventually gorged themselves and settled down to rest their distended bellies, the hyena crew rolled in, announcing their presence with a few loud vocalisations. A great video that showcases the relationship between lions and hyenas, the ultimate frenemies. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 12-03-2019 Rudi Hulshof's Classic Africa Looking lean and mean. The #giraffemale #lion is looking less like a fat over fed lazy buffoon these days, as he spends his time traveling vast distances. He now traverses the reserve here @royalmalewane from south to north as he pushes to increase the size of his territory and take over the #monwanapride of #lions , to add to the @blackdampride who he has led and ruled for the past 3 years. He peered off into the night, listening to the roars of distant lions, before setting off at high speed in their direction. We could not keep up with him as he ran to the east after having a drink just after #sunset last night. Come make your own memories here at @royalmalewane in your #wildlife photographic #safari led by a team of expert guides and trackers, waiting to give you a complete experience and a perfect stay. @sigmaphoto_sa #sigmaphoto_sa *This image is copyright of its original author Giraffe male vs Mapoza and/or Xikukutsu males? Monwana pride is free for taking. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Blondemane - 12-03-2019 Giraffe male is a fearless beast and a brave lion, that is an amazing pic of him. You can clearly see he is deciphering the distant roars "how many", "how strong", "how far" ... RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 12-04-2019 Two sisters reuniting with their mother after spending an hour or so exploring the world and scouting around for potential prey to hunt. The breakaway portion of the @blackdampride of #lions are doing wonderfully, and these two young #lion females are already bigger than their older siblings, due to lower feeding pressure. There are 4 #lioness in this group and a kill lasts them much longer than the other portion numbering 11 members. We were treated to an amazing time spent with these #predators on a recent #wildlife photographic #safari at @royalmalewane @sigmaphoto_sa #sigmaphoto_sa *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tr1x24 - 12-04-2019 2 Monwana young males vs Mapoza male and 2 Xikukutsu males: *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author The aftermath of the altercation between the 2 Monwana males against the Mapoza male with the 2 Xikukutsu males. As you can see in the photos, the Monwana males got the worst of it. With one male having a puncture wound on his back right below his mane and the other having 2 big puncture wounds on his throat, these boys are lucky to be alive. Live to fight another day is what they always say. Yes, they will be massive beasts just like they father, but it seems they will need to move from their homeland area and find their territory somewhere else, Mapoza male with Xikukutsu males are dedicated to takeover North Thornybush and Monwana pride, lone Giraffe male from the south showed some interests into that pride too, things could get very interesting there soon. Did they move into Klaserie or further north? Any info maybe who potentialy sired this Vuyela males? RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 12-04-2019 No, idea. Potentially Vuyela may be Young River males althrough we can only speculate on this for now as there is no official confirmation. |
