Will the Mbiri males be able to drive out the Ross males and take full possession of Birmingham pride, or will the Roses stand up and fight for their territory and pride? Time will tell.

As I mentioned earlier, it seems storm clouds gather. Such is the way of the wild, but I am just not sure if the Ross males are in a position to repel those two massive boys any longer, they are getting up in age and the Mbiris are in their primes, not to mention the sheer difference in size, the Mbiris are two exceptionally massive males, Scar certainly is.

The Ross males have been an incredibly successful duo, for several reasons, but two big reasons that come to mind are they never got greedy, not trying to constantly expand or switch to different prides, and they have a very close bond, I don't recall a video of them fighting each other and you rarely see one without the other.

Of concern in this particular instance, is they have a lot of cubs and subs, and they are in real peril if a clash happens.

andBeyond Guide Dyke and his guests watch the dark-maned Ross male as he moves back to the carcass he was feeding on. This male suffered quite the injury to his face and we suspect that it was during a hunt, most likely from a horn!

Many of you have asked about this male and we wanted to let you know that although we have not seen him for the last few days, the last time he was seen the wound was clean, his belly was full and he was resting. The bigger problem might now be the Mbiri males, as they are starting to appear more towards the heart of our reserve than ever before!

Glad to hear about them.

I wonder how their offspring are doing. Black Dam should be a mega pride by now. If I remember correctly there should be adult 7 females in BM pride by the time they took over so now there should be whole lot subadults as well.

I've notice this before, and especially this male on first picture, has similar face structure as Sumatra male.

Both Sumatra males and Vuyela males origins are unknown, we only know they came from the area north of Timbavati/Klaseri, so i wouldn't be suprise if they are somehow related.
