I have never seen Mauglis in persona. Igor is not typical tiger, if fact he looks quite bizarre. I think that he is an hybrid between tiger and cheetah

"Igor vazi asi 220 kilogramu." - Igor weighs aroud 220 kilograms. In fact he looked heavier, but only because of his impressive height and lenght. But closer look revealed that his body is almost nothing. 


When I visited that zoo in 2017 breeder told me that he had to be translocated to different enclosure (he had 4 cubs). He was weighted and he was around 240 kg. But I was not lucky to see him then. And I have not been in that zoo since then.

One of the male Amur tigers there in Oasis Siberian Tiger in Slovakia named Bimbo is very large. Unfortunately, Bimbo and one of its brother Rocky already passed away. Not sure about their other brother named Marecek. These three Amur brothers were very big.

Hard to say...perhaps they are of Manchurian line?

But I know one family who has private zoo, lions, leopards and amur and white bengal tigers. And those tigers are also freaking huge. Oh, well...one amur is average (around 220 kg), but another amur and white bengal (they have 3 male tigers in total) absolutely dwarfed him.  And all those tigers are in very good condition. I asked him why they are so huge and so fit. He replied that it could be because his zoo is very quiet place. Animals have their privacy and dont have so much stress as in ordinary zoos. This contributes to their condition but perhaps it could also contribute to their size. 
And it could be similar in Tiger Oasis, its a private facility, much less crowded than ordinary zoos.

The captive population of Stud book Russian Siberian tigers are descended from 120 wild-caught Founders. Those private collections of Korean tigers will have come from a limited number taken from the wild & so the gene pool will be small, those few they caught in wild Korea may have been large tigers as they is always exceptions as there is exceptions in Southern Primorski. The captive Russian population range in different sizes due to a large gene pool

So has this Kennion been zookeeper somewhere? They didn´t know him now in Marwell Wildlife for instance, so it would be interesting to know, that how he could have weighed these animals as he says? I ask this because so far it has been impossible to get any official verification to any of figures stated by him. It would be very nice to get something to back up a bit more what he states. Someone should be able to verify what he is telling. He seems to be ok, but I find it a bit odd, that no-one has been able to verify those things yet.

So far still heaviest tigers verified also by zoos have been Baikal (Cherry Brook zoo, Assiniboine Park zoo) and Igor (Odenze zoo) who were 250 kg. Btw what comes to tiger weights in some advertisements, they used for Igor 250 kg when he was 13 years old, while that was his prime weight. Aslan, lion, as known was 253 kg in his prime and then again 233 kg today as an old lion, 15 years old. So it looks like, that a healthy animal in good conditions doesn´t necessarily lose so much weight, this of course can be and of course is individual thing.

Then again as mentioned lion Nkosi was 270 kg, when he died and he was also an old lion at that time, but not even closely as fit as for instance Aslan is still now as senior, difference in photos is very clear. I wonder if Nkosi was heavier when he died when comparing to his prime condition. If not, then he has had to be one huge lion. Even bigger than I have thought.

It´s pity that from South Africa it seems difficult to get replies, that tiger, which was said to have been 320 kg would be interesting. In photos he doesn´t look so special, but naturally it doesn´t mean that he wouldn´t have been that in past. Well, in these days people have a lot of other things to think about than some emails about weights.....

To me Aslan's fathern Tau (265 kg) much more fit than Aslan(252 kg) While I agree Nkosi is less fit compared to Aslan.
