Serious fights can also happen when a pride of lion is about to feast. One of the unknown role of the male lions is to allow the youngster cubs to eat, and that even before the lionesses and, of course before the sub adult males.

I dont think a 2 year old has a chance against an adult Tiger, let alone killing one. My guess is the cut came from something else.

A 2 year old male tiger was found dead in Kaziranga with it’s skull crushed and deep gashes to the neck suggesting a big male probably did this. There was also suggestions of cannibalism as some parts of tiger was preyed upon.
