Are these the same ones as the 4 that were seperated from the other 2? Because it is possible that one of the 4 here is one of the 2 older brothers RE: Lions of Timbavati - BA0701 - 07-22-2022 Apparently Lagertha has been injured by a hyena. I hope this tough lionesss be accepted by the Ngati, Ngati-breakway, or find some friends soon. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 07-22-2022 Tanda Tula update It wasn’t only the leopards going for warthogs this week! We spent a good part of one evening drive watching one of the Vuyela male lions trying to dig a warthog out of its burrow. The lion spent close to an hour digging in the hole, and had no sooner stepped back to catch his breath when the warthog went dashing out of the burrow and into the darkness leaving the lion with no chance. Another Vuyela male appeared close to Plains Camp later in the week too. The day after the excitement with the warthog, Steven and his guests watched a lone lioness try and tackle a large male wildebeest! The lioness managed to grab a hold of the wildebeest, but after several minutes of struggling to get him onto the ground to finish the job, the wildebeest eventually managed to shake off the lioness and run to freedom! This lioness was seen a few times over the week, but I haven’t yet confirmed her ID, although I suspect it could be the Hercule’s lioness. In the east, the River Pride made an appearance and were seen feeding on a waterbuck kill late in the week, and after much absence the Mayambula pride – or at least part of it – started spending more time around their old haunts, and we suspect that one of the other lionesses may have given birth to a new litter quite recently based on the evidence of suckle marks around her teats. Although the Giraffe Pride remained frustratingly elusive, there were at least more signs of them having come into the area this past week, so maybe they will show themselves over the coming days. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions of Timbavati - DARK MANE - 07-22-2022 Xikukutsu males return to thornybush just when mapoza male is facing threat from 4/6 black dam males. Let's hope xikukutsu males won't kill the youngest cubs in moanwana pride. Those who don't know, xikukutsu males are younger brothers/ half brothers of Southern and Northern Avocas. They are very robust and powerful. Which pride do these two brothers control? https://www.instagram.com/stories/thornybush.safari/2887934464811041226/?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY%3D RE: Lions of Timbavati - Potato - 07-22-2022 (07-22-2022, 09:25 PM)DARK MANE Wrote: Which pride do these two brothers control?Monwana and Black Dam. I wouldn't say they control Monwana pride, they where not seen with them for long time, thats Mapoza's pride. But yea, if we still think that Xikukutsu's and Mapoza are 1 coalition then yea, although thats also the question which needs to be answered, as Mapoza and Xikukutsu's where not seen together since 2020 if im not mistaken. As somebody mentioned, Xikukutsu's might be a threat for Monwana cubs at this point, as they where not been with Monwanas after the cubs where born.
