RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Chris - 09-18-2021 (09-17-2021, 06:49 AM)titose Wrote: An impressive sighting with 9 of the young Boyela/Babalala males in November last year in the northern area of Shingwedzi, the Babalala and Sirheni area is currently a hotbed of young male coalitions with about 5 different ones, the dynamics are very interesting and only time will tell how this drama will end!! Any update on these boys? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Cunaguaro - 09-18-2021 ¡TWO TOP YOUNG GUNS! ROYAL & REGAL PRINCE'S. YTM aka YOUNG TORCHWOOD MALE & YBM aka YOUNG BIRMINGHAM MALE aka OSINDILE. Both young males were chasing their eternal enemies, hyenas today in the morning. The hyenas were scattered in all directions and it was a fun time for these two Prince's. *Following the previous post, here is an awsome clip of these two boys* Credits: Brett Marneweck. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - lionuk - 09-18-2021 @Potato Yes, it's great to see them looking well and healthy. There were 6 Mayambulas subadult males in the sightings, all accounted for, not 7. To be honest, at first, I thought it was 7 males, but realised there were 7 lionesses in Mayambulas Pride. Myambula pride were 6 females (3 older and 3 sired by Mbiris), then they were joined up by another 3 unknown females (1 older and 2 subs) bringing pride's count to 9. In the past weeks tho only 7 are spotted so the dynamic within this pride are very chaotic and hard to keep up with. Maybe you\re right and the prevoius count of Myambula male as 7 strong was wrong, but perhaps this older unknown female stick with Myambula pride while sub females which were with her moved off and there are in fact 7 males and 3 females sired by Mbiri males in Myambula pride. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - lionuk - 09-19-2021 It is so exciting following the progress and watching the next generation growing up, the 5 sub adult Ngotso young brothers during the past month. We first had a glimpse of some of them as tiny cubs from different litters in August 2019, so they are around 2 years and a few months old. They have thrived under the protection of their massive fathers and with the abundant provision of their mothers' expert hunting skills. They will probably be pushed out on their own very soon and hopefully they stick together, grow stronger and make smart decisions as they form into a formidable future coalition. As sons of one of the Kruger National Park's most well liked and impressive coalitions they have had a privileged start in life.
