Seems like past 3 years were best in lion history. If we remove the incident of nwaswitshaka takeover of kambulas and cubs killing, nothing lilike that had happened since second half of 2018.
BUT IS IT THE CALMNESS JUST BEFORE A STORM.
Especially in timbavati.
So many subadults are ready. Either to start a nomadic llife Or are already leading a one and searching for a pride.
6 BDYM, 6-7 MAYAMBULAS SUBS, 7 BIRMINGHAM BREAKAWAY SUBS, 4 BIRMINGHAM SUBS, 2-3 NSEMANI SUBS, 6-7 KAMBULA SUBS, 2 TALAMATI SUBS, 5 NKUHUMA SUBSSUBS.
And there are a few coalitions who just become adults and are searching for prides.
7 SATARA MALES, 6-7 BOYELA/ BBABLALA MALES, YBM & TYM, 2 PC MALESMALES.
Also there are many overambitious coalitions who are eager to take on more than one pride at a samsame time like OLDER MBIRIS, NWASWITSHAKA.
I don't know why I am getting vibes of either too much skirmishes in timbavati and nearby areas. We are going to witness too many breakaways and deadly fightings.
In the past decade, we have seen, Sabi sands was completely rule by coalition of timbavati. Almost all the youngs, subs of SS were forced to leave( due to takeovers). But this time there are no 12-14 yrs old mapogos, 13 yrs old majingis eetc. No old man are there. All are YOUNG TURKS
Except Nhenha, the eldest lion in SS are S. AVOCAS and that too 8 yrs 9 months old, in their prime.
Timbavatis have ruled over SS for 10 yrs straight. But this time 4 nwaswitshaka, 3 N aavocas, 2 tumbelas, NYM, 2 S. Avocas , 2 PC are gonna take shit out of them or atleast give them neck to neck fight.
Just one line SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST.
Also more important there are many prides that are no more. SPARTA, CHARLESTON, TSALALA, XIMUNGWE are either extinct or near to extinct.

Most of these younger coalitions will likely die off and disapear without making a name for themselves. Ensuring that the male population stays within healthy numbers.
By keeping pressure on the established coalitions, they will prevent those from spreading out and taking more prides.. Some may even lose themselves, both freeing up prides for other coalitions.
Its a very violent game of musical chairs out there and only the best get to sit down.

Do any of you think we need an individual thread for the Black Dam males, they are one of the most talked about coalitions in greater Kruger, I think they deserve their own thread.

Definitely not yet. Theres not a lot of sightings of them atm, and are still not established coalition, they might just tomorrow move into Kruger and never to be seen again.
By that logic all coalitions should have their own threads, but theres no point of making individual threads for most coalitions, especially still nomadic ones or ones that are in Kruger which means their sightings/info will be quite rare.
We have threads for big coalitions usually around Sabi Sands/Manyaleti/Timbavati that are often seen and popular such as Majingilanes/Matimbas/Mapogos in the past, Bboys, Avocas and currently Nwaswitshakas, Tumbelas. These coalitions are monitored and filmed on pretty much daily bases so we have a lot of info about them.
If BDM's establish themselves in Timbavati in future, we could made a thread for them, but not yet as they are still nomads and their future is still uncertaint.

Not really, there are far more talked about coalitions like the Torchwood/ Birmingham coalition are far more popular and even the 6 Kambula Young males are more talked about and they're younger and have a long way to go.

Bigger population enforces competition for resources (not enough place around for everyone), some dies, other survives. Population gets smaller and there is not so much need to compete as there is enough resources for everyone.

Its rather odd that they have to do with general lions in x threads while in the grand scheme of things they are far more impprtant and longliving than even the best coalitions.

Tanda Tula update
The Mayambula Pride have still been active in the east, with one lioness and the Skorro males leaving signs all around the den site, but as for the whole their whereabouts and movements remain a mystery. Their visits to the area have been erratic at best, and we can only assume that the other lionesses have given birth to the east of our concession. With these lions being far less active than expected, the River Pride have been free to roam back into the area and have been relatively regular visitors to the northern parts of our concession, with the pride popping in a couple of times a week, and spending a day or two at a time here.
The Ross and Hercules lionesses have also been active to the west of camp, and four Vuyela males and one Sark lioness also showed up in the west this past week. Guy also found the Sumatra male mating with a Giraffe Pride lioness on our access road close to the entrance to the Timbavati. So whilst the lions have been far from a guarantee over the past three weeks, there have still been five different prides showing themselves over this time, and we look forward to more lion viewing over the coming weeks, including what will hopefully be our first view of the new lion cubs!

I think they are younger brothers of YBM, must born somewhere in mid 2017.
I think they are very much on their own as Ross males won't tolerate them anymore

the other 3 is sired by ross males? are all 7 subs male still together or separate?
