Not too long ago, I saw a post with a photo of a very hefty maneless male with a female. The animals were in the distance, perhaps by a watering hole but I am not sure. As the male was maneless I thought I saw it in this thread but cannot seem to find it anymore. I figured I’d post to see if someone has this photo.

Unfortunately lions in Niokolo Koba don't grow big manes due to their low population and reduced prey availability, so that is about as big as it can get for now. Hopefully in the future they can look more like this

Wow, that's a shame. Hopefully this will change soon. The lack of preys affect on a lot of factors, not only mane, also health, strength and growth
