RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 03-16-2022 The old man is still holding strong RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 03-16-2022 This Jamhol and Mamu relationship that involves Dotty being sort of a step mother is really fascinating behaviour. There have been certain theories floating around that male tigers when sensing that their reign is coming to end like to pass their territories on to their next generation. We saw Bheem letting Chota Bheem loiter around in Khitauli even though he was so territorial. There have been other such instances as well. But, this one is different. Would like to see how the relationship evolves. Dotty was tolerant to him because all her 4 cubs are female. I am not sure what her reaction would have been if he had been a threat to male cubs. I thought this tiger was going to die, 6 years later. he’s still around. what a beast. for reference check this topic below https://wildfact.com/forum/topic-tigers-of-north-eastern-india page 1 post #11 headshot male from a few months back, a true war veteran of Kaziranga. perhaps one of the toughest warrior out there. surviving with that sad incident that took place 6-7 years ago is a legendary feat of its own. apparently he was shot in the face by poachers and managed to survive. the rival male towards the end of the video is also massive with a huge head. *This image is copyright of its original author Kazi 45 (March/2022) *This image is copyright of its original author Kazi 45 *This image is copyright of its original author Kazi 45 (March/2022) *This image is copyright of its original author the new male that has been challenging Kazi 45 for control over Kohora range (March/2022) *This image is copyright of its original author Dudhwa tigress with 5 cubs (2020) RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 04-10-2022 the dudhwa lady is beldanda..all her cubs were killed by thunder in 2020 @Roflcopters RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 04-10-2022 Thanks @Rage2277 just fixed it. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 04-22-2022 Shiva, Tadoba (son of Waghdoh): N2 aka Kishan, Nauradehi: RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 04-24-2022 *This image is copyright of its original author During our morning safari, we had planned to sight Jharni with her three cubs and Mowgli. Our guide was speculating that Jharni with her cubs sighting is possible as previous day she had killed a Sambar deer and left the carcass. So she would definitely bring her cubs to feed them but Mowgli was doubtful as he is injured due to territorial fight with Chota Matka. Things changed as we entered the forest, within 20 mins we could see all jeeps waiting for Chota Matka as he just went inside the thickets. Luckily, he was on the move sniffing around the places for any new scent mark and taking over Mowgli's territory by scent marking. We were lucky to witness him actions and head-on. April 2022 TATR, Maharashtra *This image is copyright of its original author Mowgli after losing his recent fight with Chota Matka, he doesn't seem to be badly injured from what i see. hopefully i am right and he recovers fast. (April/2022) *This image is copyright of its original author Volatile times at Tadoba. Tadoba today resembles a kaleidoscope, ever changing and very exciting to look at. But beneath the surface calm is the ongoing frantic struggle to establish territorial dominance. The dominant male “Rudra”(No.1) is today recuperating from the after effects of a fierce struggle for survival, made worse by a porcupine quill that only added to the injury. He is down but not out. Struggling to save his last bastion and the cubs born recently to his paramour “Tara”. The intruding new big male “Balram” ( No.2) has already established his hold over the prime real estate of Tadoba as also his hold over the queen “Maya”. Another un-named and unknown new large male (No.3) is already knocking at the gates to threaten both “Rudra” and “Balram”. “Rudra” had earlier pushed out “Matka” (No.4) to the buffer areas, who in turn pushed out the dominant kankazari male (No.6) to establish his hegemony in one of the buffer areas. “Matka’s” dominance in the buffer is now being threatened by “Tala” who was also pushed out to the buffer by his sibling “Rudra”. In an another buffer “Matka’s” huge son “Chota Matka” (7) is pushing out the dominant big male “Mowgli” ( No.5) from his established territory. Similar stories are now visible in other areas of Tadoba as well, and to describe each would run into pages. New kings may soon be crowned giving birth to new progenies at the cost of the earlier ones. As they say: “The king is dead, Long live the king”. They were codenamed P234-31 and P234-32. Tiger cub P234-31 was radio-collared on January 6, 2021. Heera was the one radio-collared at 14 months old. Two attempts to radio-collar Panna, the other cubs failed. Heera was found dead in November 2021 at about 2 years old with his skin removed seperately in a clear case of poaching. He was found about 45 kilometres away from Panna clearly showing a threat to dispersing young tigers. I am sure he was weighed when radio-collared. But, he was just 14 months old then. Doubt he was captured again.
