Quote:We also have a genetic study underway, and there seems to be a clear distinction, genetically, from East and Southern African leopards.

The African leopard is seen as one subspecies but in reality, they could (and even were) be divided in multiple subspecies becouse of numerous reasons.

See this, there's now a new study claiming that the taxonomic position of Central African lions may need to be revised, and this is linked with the issue of subspecies of leopards, because just as leopards in northern and southern parts of Africa are genetically distinct, so are lions: https://wildfact.com/forum/topic-genetic-taxonomic-issues-for-the-cat-specialist-group?pid=116125#pid116125

Wow! His mane makes him appear around 4 years old, but the mass he carries looks more like an adult lion in his prime. What a tank of a beast!
