So they where still alive until late 2010, which makes sense as current Ross males where born in late 2010/early 2011. I read somewhere that he was not a litter mate of the other three, and may have joined them from another pride. Image by Willem Pretorius. This isn't the unrelated member, in fact, this is one of the three Machaton males (the one with bump on the elbows and a bad limp) RE: Lions of Timbavati - Herekitty - 06-02-2021 The River pride males are looking absolutely amazing at Ingwelala. "This is one of a coalition of three formidable males that have recently made the northern part of our reserve home. Who'd argue with them. They also brought along four lioness and a cub I've not seen before. Lion dynamics are very interesting......and totally confusing, as they ebb and flow on a regular basis." RE: Lions of Timbavati - T I N O - 06-02-2021 Timbavati update - Hercules and Sumatra male were seen yesterday at Kambaku Property, A few hours later, they went south again RE: Lions of Timbavati - Herekitty - 06-02-2021 The second Machimba male at Motswari in late 2017. These guys were initially known to Motswari as the Eastern males as they hung out for a time with the lone Sumatra lioness in the East of the reserve. This guy was caught up in the Skye hunting affair, after the Mpumalunga Tourist board gave consent for a lion hunt, and a photo of this guy was given to the hunting outfit and told not to shoot him, he is the Western pride male. As a consequence they killed Skye the actual Western pride male, and this guy disappeared too. Charlie Lynam, May 28, 2021 They're dominant over two Timbavati pride lionesses, Perhaps, the oldest lion pride of Timbavati at the moment. |
