From what I notice Assam region tigers seem to have less vibrant stripe patterns, especially around the front portion of their body, but the coloration of them is a bit harder to tell. Some photographers will adjust their shots to make the tigers color more vibrant or less, just depends.
I know that northern Indian tigers also seem to have a less vibrant coat and stripe pattern as well.

Kaziranga National Park has one of the highest tiger densities in India today, but these striped beasts are seldom seen. They are not shy, just that the tall elephant grass and the semi evergreen forests gives them a nice cover to hide.
On on this day, we were extremely lucky to spot him relaxing by a water hole, and then he came out of the bushes and started walking on the road, patrolling his territory.
Too see this striped beauty in a landscape like Kaziranga is indeed an awesome sight.

Simply in love with Grassland Tiger habitat !
Due to tall elephant grasses there was just a small opening from where i could make this picture.I had to stand in the Gypzy and take this shot hand-held.

Kaziranga Tiger Scape
Feeling blessed to document such a superb Tiger sighting from Kaziranga forest.Kaziranga boost a good number of Tiger population but Tiger sighting here is difficult because of Kazi Terrain,Thick vegetation and long elephant grasses.Saw this male Tiger resting near the waterbody at a distant.Almost after an hour of wait ,He stood-up came out of grassland and started walking on the road.

Where is the bottom image on post #27 from?
That is such a clear image, you never see tigers like that from Kazi.
