The start of a new generation - The non-skittish Skorro male was seen yesterday morning mating with one of the lionesses of the Western pride at Timbavati Game Reserve - It is a good sighting, as there's report of the old River pride males being with the Western pride a few months ago, also, the Dundee male has been around these females a few months ago also, let's see how the lion dynamics develop in the next few months, If the Skorro males keep mating with this lioness, in the next three/four months we will start to see some new cubs into the Western pride

The Skorro males arrived on Timbavati as a coalition of three males, they were first known as the Abercrombie males, the third member had a severely injured leg and was euthanised, by a vet, after being darted to see if it was a man made injury (which it wasn’t), they were born in November 2014 into the Skorro pride of which on that time resided on Ngala. The Skorro pride were affectionately named as "Skorro Pride" from a few years back because the first time Ngala saw them they had been in a big fight and looked skinny and pretty beaten up, there was a young male with them too, he had a broken hip and leg, and his back was injured, he got nicknamed Skorro male and the name has stuck for the pride

Ok, thats more reasonable, i dont think they would allow Giraffe young male in their company..

Of course, it doesn't make much sense at all. As well, they chased him off around a month ago, If I not mistaken. So, they won't tolerated him there

Avoca pride seen yesterday - A few weeks ago a Thornybush ranger told me that they had the Avoca pride for some days in the area. Interesting times ahead.

Just to update the new followers of WildFact forum about the current Ross male fathers, as throughout the years, were said to be sired by the old Giraffe male, fathers of the Avoca/Giraffe coalition and the Rockfig male

The three old Giraffe males sired the RockFig male, the 6 Giraffe males, but the two Ross males were sired by the two old big Ross males known as Tyson and fabio (They were dominant of the Ross pride much before the old Giraffe males arrived there.) the two original Ross males were hunted and killed by hunters in Klaserie, A time before that both-males were hunted they sired the current Ross males that were born in December 2010, The original Ross males were killed in September 2010, and the three old Giraffe males arrived in November 2010 there, the reason they didn't kill the current Ross males when were cubs, is they most likely thought it was their offspring as they were not born yet when they took over

Agreed. The Ross males are great pride males in terms of providing stability and protection under which the Birmingham pride has grown and continues to flourish.

Indeed, I'll post pics of the old Ross males known as Fabio and Mike Tyson, they were really impressive and stunning males. I'll post why they were named as Tyson and Mike Tyson, I'm sure you will be interested on it

Indeed, I'll post pics of the old Ross males known as Fabio and Mike Tyson, they were really impressive and stunning males. I'll post why they were named as Tyson and Mike Tyson, I'm sure you will be interested on it

I would love to read about it. I always thought Tyson was called that, named after Mike Tyson, and everyone always refers to him as the mean one. One bit of info that would be great to hear is how they got the Birmingham Pride, as well.

Agreed. The Ross males are great pride males in terms of providing stability and protection under which the Birmingham pride has grown and continues to flourish.

Couldn't agree more. Not to mention they are happy maintaining what they have, not trying to expand, and take over additional prides. I think they are doing a really good job.
