RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tshokwane - 12-26-2016 Credits to Tintswalo Safari Lodge. The afternoon of the 24th, the Nharu pride with the two Thanda Impi male lions were relocated on leadwood link. All were sleeping off the buffalo they’ve killed the previous day. Sizanani male lion, one of the Thanda Impi’s is in very bad condition after picking up an injury too his left hip. Not sure what the cause was, but there is speculation that it may be from a hunting accident. At least he has been feeding well so we are hoping for a speedy recovery. The next morning, 4 Mbiri lionesses were found just South of Xigamba pan. They were heading in a straight line towards their cubs on windy windy. We lost their visual before they reached there destination. The Nharu pride managed too kill another 2 buffalo during the night and the two Males were at the one carcass on Nveve link, while the lionesses and cubs were not more then 300m away on Piva path with their kill. The afternoon of the 25th, we managed too check in with the Thanda Impi male lions on Nveve link. This time we had a proper look at Sizanani’s limp and its not looking good at all! *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 12-29-2016 From Tintswalo Safari Lodge Safari update On the afternoon of the 26th, we relocated the Ntsuntsu male leopard on Wilderness, with his kill still dangling in the Tamboti tree. The Nhahru pride was also relocated on Mveve link, with both Thanda impi male Lions also enjoying the Buffalo kill. Yesterday morning, we found the 2 Thanda Impi male Lions on Reedbuck plains. The Ntsuntsu male Leopard was also seen in the same place. Some Hyenas were also feeding on a Hippo carcass at Old Pump. Late in the morning, the mother Mbiri Lioness was found with a Buffalo kill on Windi Windi. The 4 cubs were with her and the sighting very quickly escalated to a beautiful family sighting. In the afternoon, we relocated the Mbiri female and her cubs. 2 of the other Mbiri lionesses were with her. The cubs were suckling, and it obviously hurt. She took her frustration out on one of the young Lionesses. The Ntsuntsu male Leopard had unfortunately moved off his kill and wasn't relocated. The Thanda Impi male Lions were found on Vulture pan road. This morning, the Mbiri pride was relocated with the thanda Impi male Lions on Windi Windi. The Nharhu pride was found at Metsikitsoro plains. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author About Sizanani: "He's feeding on a Buffalo. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 12-31-2016 From Tintswalo Safari Lodge Safari update The afternoon of the 28th, was a busy one. A major storm was brewing to the south. Sadly only about 17mm of rain fell over night for us. The Nharhu pride was relocated on Metsikitsoro plains. 3 Leopard were seen in the afternoon as well. The Beacon male Leopard was found close to Wild dog dam with a Wildebeest calf kill. The Sable bridge female was found close to Mazambaan corner. Interestingly it seems she has cubs again, because of some clear suckle marks. Another male leopard was seen close to Lomfane pan, but unfortunately we have no photos, so unsure who it was. The Mbiri pride and both thanda Impi males were also relocated on Windi Windi. The morning was a wet one. There was no Lion sightings in the morning. A pack of African Wild dogs was found on Powerlines in the central parts of the reserve. A male Cheetah was also seen on Metsikitsoro plains late in the morning as well. Yesterday afternoon, the rain continued! We did find the Nharhu pride close to Wild dog dam. Later in the afternoon, the 3 young Mbiri Lionesses were found very close to the Nharhu pride at ingwe manzi. A female Leopard was also seen close to Wild dog Dam, late in the drive. The Wild dogs were again seen on Powerlines. This morning the Nharhu pride was found with a Buffalo kill and both Thanda Impi male Lions at Ingwe manzi. Good news is that the Sizanani male seems to be walking a bit better on his bad leg. The African Wild dog pack was again seen, but this time on Pungwe access in the south of the reserve. The rain continued to pour this morning, so the bush is almost turning an electric green. Great for the year to come! *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author

The Mbiri pride with the cubs were found at the den site close to Catwalk west. The Tekwane male Leopard was found with his wildebeest calf kill on GPS loop. A female Cheetah with 3 small cubs were found on Nyathi drive, but the cubs are tiny and still very skittish of the vehicles. On the morning of the 5th, the Thanda Impi male Lions were again relocated at Ingwe Manzi. The Mbiri pride was found with a Buffalo kill at Sable bridge. An interesting find was a juvenile Lanner falcon at Ingwe Manzi, terrorizing the local Blacksmith Lapwing population. The Rhulani male Leopard was found with an Impala kill on Nyathi drive. The Narhu pride was found on Ndlulamiti road. The female Cheetah with her 3 cubs were found on Bee-eater drive. In the afternoon, the Nahru pride was relocated on Ndlulamiti. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 01-11-2017 From Tintswalo Safari Lodge The afternoon of the 6th was very productive. The Thanda Impi male Lions were still on their Buffalo kill art Ingwe manzi. The Rhulani male Leopard was found on Nyathi drive, close to Catwalk east. The Ntsuntsu male Leopard was found on Red road. Yesterday morning, the Thanda Impi male Lions were found at Zebra pan. The rest of the morning was quiet for big cats, until the Nharhu pride was found at Main Dam late in the morning. The general game was outstanding with several Buffalo herds in the north, and 2 Giraffe bulls having a little fight. Yesterday afternoon was quite cold and wet. The Thanda impi males were relocated at Zebra pan. The Nharhu pride was relocated at Main Dam. Rhulani was found on Workshop road. The big news of the after4noon was of 2 separate Cheetah sightings. 1 male was found on Metsikitsoro plains and another male was found on Bee-eater road. The rain continued this morning. We managed to find one of the Mbiri Lionesses close to the lodge at Xigamba pan. She was calling for the other females. She didn't find the other females, but did attract the Thanda Impi male Lions. The rest of the morning was quiet, with the rain continuing through the morning. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
