RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - Pckts - 11-24-2016 @ "btw i checked bison and bear video didn't found any!!" Not sure you'll find much in the way of a Bison hunt beginning to end but you'll find some pretty heavy evidence via text and eye witness accounts and some nice videos of interactions between the two as well. Here you can see a Mother Bison can do nothing but watch as a Grizzly takes her calf and then repels her as well. This bison was burned by a Geyser prior to the bear chasing it, still see the bear hunting it though. Grizzly sow with cubs attacks young adult bull bison and successfully preys on it, with some extenuating factors though, but still successful and face to face in the beginning. http://www.bearbiology.com/fileadmin/tpl/Downloads/URSUS/Vol_13/Wyman_13.pdf *This image is copyright of its original author They are also no friend to Boars, though your video claimed otherwise. If you will notice in Vinay's video ( wrongly post in the Sloth Bear topic ), the wild boar steps aside for the European brown bear. On a wildlife documentary about India, I have also watched wild boars scatter at the arrival of a sloth bear. American black bears prey upon razor-backs ( mostly small pigs ). It is really very uncommon for a grizzly to hunt really big adult prey such as elk, moose, or bison. Bears generally do not like to risk an unnecessary fight. However, sometimes, in stalking a calf, a confrontation with an adult bull or cow ( or boar ) will happen. Again, nice post - good information. RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - Vinay - 11-24-2016 These are not my personal videos, typed 'bear and boar' the results are here. What is wrong init?? They both are grazing peacefully. I don't think these videos are fake or doctored. Nd then typed 'bear and wolves' 3 wolves Vs 2 grizzlys fight for carcass.Guess who won!! RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - brotherbear - 11-24-2016 Vinay says: These are not my personal videos, typed 'bear and boar' the results are here. What is wrong init?? If you will notice in Vinay's video You both sounds me like those are my videos or fake or doctored.IF not, peace. Anyway, now i'm clear on grizzly's diet.So brown bears also eat Ants,Moths and earth worms like Sloth bears *This image is copyright of its original author http://www.yellowstonepark.com/what-bears-eat/ RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - brotherbear - 11-25-2016 Vinay, to start with, no one ever said that the videos' are fake or doctored. Actually, nice videos'. A grizzly is an omnivore, and therefore only a part-time predator. I notice on the video that both the boar and the bears are feeding evidently on some form of vegetation. If you are wondering why the bear does not attack the wild boar; such an attack would be foolish. Perhaps the bear could kill the wild boar and maybe not. The wild hog appears bigger and heavier than the grizzly. It would therefore be a savage battle and, even should the bear win, he would not likely do so without injury. Grizzly bears are highly intelligent animals and not normally prone to choose an unnecessary fight. However, you will notice that at one point in the video, the bear moves towards the wild boar and the boar avoids the bear. As for eating insects; yes both black bears and grizzlies supplement their omnivore diet of meat, vegetation, and fish with an occasional feast of insects. However, insects make up only a very small percentage of a grizzly's food resources. RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - Vinay - 11-25-2016 ^^ it look like 10% of grizzly's diet may consist of meat in that at-most 3% from own hunt! Boar give space to bear not panicked just a space where a small animal gives to big animal. Every one claims their favorite animal is most intelligent.Anyway, from this site Bears are not in top 25 list , Cats are in 10. http://list25.com/25-most-intelligent-animals-on-earth/5/ One thing we noticed in the list is ALL TOP 20 animals are TRAINABLE or someway obey few commands. If that is the case only one Bear TILL now trained and nurtured by Humans. That is none other than Most aggressive, high canine teeth in the bear family aka 'Dancing Bear' or Honey Bear or Sloth Bear. Oh, the famous denial. If you ask any kid 'what are intelligent animals',they say Dog/Pig/Parrot/Elephant/Dolphin/Monkey ... so on.This is just common sense not common in experts!! I can ask you the same question on your every post 'Is it Scientific/Is Source trustable ??' RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - Tshokwane - 11-25-2016 @ You're provoking him unnecessarily and with a wrong premise. Brotherbear is correct, bears are highly intelligent animals. If you don't like that, instead of denigrating them maybe you should hold that to yourself and stick with the topic you were discussing initially. RE: Brown Bears (Info, Pics and Videos) - Pckts - 11-25-2016 So not being one of the top 10 smartest animals in the world on a list that includes "dogs" and "ants" somehow proves what exactly? There are thousands of animals in this world and to read about bear intelligence from trainers and performers isn't difficult. You think any animal that can be trained to ride a bicycle, twirl bow staffs or be taught any trick a dog can do means that animal is dumb?
