They are fast becoming one of my favorite coalitions already! Another coalition i look forward to is the Jocks males :) RE: Lions of Timbavati - jacksonsmash - 09-01-2016 any history on the matinmahle males/any chance we could get a nice map of manyeleti and timbavati with the areas controlled by different males.nothing has to be exact, just a rough outline.@majingilane just did this for another thread and it really does help.thanks everyone RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tshokwane - 09-01-2016 Quote:any history on the matinmahle males/any chance we could get a nice map of manyeleti and timbavati with the areas controlled by different males.nothing has to be exact, just a rough outline This one is a bit more difficult, mostly because the amount of updates and info is not the same. But in a previous page you can see a map of the Timbavati and surrounding areas and Gamiz named some of the coalitions in the territories they are. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Ngala - 09-02-2016 From Umlani Captured in Photos - August 2016: "Another old face that we haven't seen in some time popped up this month. The old Ross male who is now also nomadic moving huge distances and scavenging from every kill he can. One interesting sighting we had was of him stealing a buffalo calf kill from a clan of hyenas, the hyenas seemed intimidated by the old male and gave up their kill without too much of a fight. It was good to see this old male still holding his own in the face of such adversity" *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions of Timbavati - Tshokwane - 09-02-2016 The thrill of experiencing a male lion roaring is breathtaking! Our dominant male scorro spent the whole morning looking for the mbiri females and his coalition member sizanani. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 09-04-2016 A rare sighting of 5 of the Mohlabetsi males together. The big male being accompanied by this young female. To be honest, I have no idea which pride she is from, as this scene was pretty much,slap-bang in the middle of the reserve. RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 09-07-2016 After tracking lions the entire morning we eventually tracked down the Giraffe pride and one Trilogy male that had killed two buffalo on our property in the west. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author From Nthambo Tree Camp A Mapoza male lion comes for a drink at a waterhole after dark and we are thrilled to see his behaviour become more relaxed in our presence. When the Mapozas first arrived, we could bank on an aggressive glare at least, but now these males are quite used to us and we are able to view them at length. *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions of Timbavati - Blackleopard - 09-07-2016 Some great pics you guys found of the Mapoza males, never heard of them. Generally I'd have to say the tigers appear more muscular in the arms, but these males in particular appear pretty strong. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Lions of Timbavati - Gamiz - 09-09-2016 From Ezulwini Game Lodge We’ll never tire of hearing about the intricate web of the Balule’s lion pride dynamics. A few days ago the Ezulwini team spotted 3 Mohlabetsi males dining out on a recent buffalo kill. But this time, it wasn’t three lions from the dominant coalition, but rather up and coming youngsters from the Mohlabetsi Pride of lions! http://www.sundestinations.co.za/blog/young-lions-from-mohlabetsi-pride-on-buffalo-kill/ *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
