The track of a huge male jaguar next to the foot of the photographer, then the jaguar in question. This was recorded in the Bolivian lowland grasslands.

Massive puma from Mato Grosso, meaning its likely a Pantanal or Amazonian specimen. While Pantanal and especially Amazonian pumas are generally frail and tiny, it's clear why this tom is so big and robust, the prey base of large ungulates in the area is excellent. Massive feral hogs and tapirs, abundant peccaries.

Also, notice the huge size difference between the hogs and the white-lipped peccaries. The latter clearly doubling in size their New World counterparts and not being too far off from the tapir.

These pieces of footage are from 2021. Here we see one of the dominant males at Refúgio da Ilha (Pança) compared to different prey species who passed on the same trail areas as him:

We've yet to get information on the weights of male jaguars from this protected area as Onçafari, to my knowledge, hasn't resumed captures just yet. Two captured females weighed 82 and 84 kg respectively, the only jaguars captured there so far.

Here's Kim (84 kg) and a resident male I call "Half Tail" (his official name has not been published) on the same trail. The male is much taller and it would not surprise me if he surpassed the 80 cm shoulder height threshold withe ease, whilst Kim is an above-average sized female herself:

Other huge males from the area would include Kinati, Camelote, and Encontro.

@Ngonya @Mapokser Refúgio da Ilha is an intermediate area between the Pantanal and Cerrado in Mato Grosso do Sul, great for safaris. Let me know if you want to see more about the jaguars from this area.
