They are a formidable combination though.
You can't judge that from this video alone. In this video, they never really went for the kill. All the lion killing I have seen, the male lions immediately go for the kill, without backing out especially when they have numbers on their side.
Plus this was a sub-adult, there is no reason to think they couldn't have killed it if they wanted to. The thing is THEY DIDN'T WANT TO KILL (maybe wanted to scare him a little) it so comparing them to the manginjis and saying they are less "ruthless" is very biased and unfactual. In fact, the manthinhles are quite aggressive themselves.
