Like @GrizzlyClaws mentioned, his canines were in very good condition, considering he was 12 years old.

I think it's a combination of factors, but the decline may have started around 2015. I don't think it was as serious as it looked, because that bad leg or hip bothered him, but it was only just a bit until he got some blood pumping there and then he walked better.

In fact, until not so long ago, he was filmed taking active part in the hunting, something he couldn't have done if he was in that bad state.

After that, the lack of meals sometimes dominant males need to go through in order to patrol and/or the lng bouts of mating, seemed to have a higher toll on him, which was understandable, again considering his age. Reply
