" The mighty, MASSIVE Gomondwane male lions need no introduction. Splitnose, Tank and Blondie has been ruling the Vurhami and Hippo pools lion prides in the south for years now. Success is their story, and they keep brining success to the southern Kruger.
With so many male lions around them in the southern kruger, they have held their ground, and continue to do so. These days, they spend most of their time in the Hippo pools area, which is why they are seldom seen roaming in the kruger. Last year in the winter months, they were extremely active around the Vurhami pride, hence the many sightings of them all over the southern kruger. I for one thought it would be the same, but they are simply not to be found.
I have personally spent nearly 4 weeks now looking for these male lions, to film them, but more importantly, to see if they are ok. Blondie and Splitnose were seen on tow night drives on different days, so we know they are alive and healthy. But where is tank? Why is the far south so quiet?
Is it the silence before the storm? Time will tell, as i continue to search for the Kruger's biggest male lions, the Gomondwane males.
Do enjoy this video, of these mighty male lions! "
