There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Vijayarajan Muthu Legendary couple ! While Umarpani herself was a Large female (people mistook her for a Male sometimes), she seems to be dwarfed by Mighty Munna in these pics. TFS Rachit bhai !

From Kirkman's Kamp Private Game Reserve:
Have you ever heard mating leopards?
The Teardrop female and West Street male are mating again at Kirkman's Kamp Private Game Reserve. Unfortunately this does suggest that the Tear Drop female has lost her second litter of cubs this year. Lets hope in three months she can be more successful in bringing up her next litter.

From Kirkman's Kamp Private Game Reserve:
The Ndzilo female leopard is successfully mating on Kirkman's Kamp Private Game Reserve. Have a look at this video of her mating with the Mahlatini male leopard. The very next day, however, she was thankfully mating with the West Street male leopard on Kirkmans.

From Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve:
"Male Leopard, Tingana was located mating with female, Shadow just South West of Cheetah Plains camp a couple of evenings ago. Whether this was legitimate mating, or if she was trying to get Tingana away from a potential densite is yet to be seen. They were located again this morning, in Shadows core territory. From Arathusa Safari Lodge:
"A few weeks back, ranger Cedrick Dold and his guests came across Tingana and Shadow mating. This led us to believe that Shadow must have lost her cub. We don't know what happened, but hadn't seen the cub for over two weeks. The high number of predators in the wild is a significant factor in cub mortality rates."

From Kirkman's Kamp Private Game Reserve:
Video of Mating Leopards
The West Street male and Flockfield female have been spotted mating in the Sand River at Kirkman's Kamp. After two days they moved away from eachother, but this morning we found the Westreet male and Teardrop female just north of the lodge. Hopefully this afternoon bring some great interaction between the two.

At least they are not selective as human females: needing a man that makes six figures, an expensive car, and a thousand other requirements.

The uninterested lioness still allows the male lion to mate with her.

Well, I wouldn't say that thought just as easily. Remember that in this case, she's mating with one of the top lions of their region, who's basically filling her requirements.

While it's true that she would mate with a "lower" male if there wasn't other around, but if there IS one that is top, as for example a male part of a dominant coalition, then her choice is going to be clear.

It happens, mostly when you're getting your nose into your girl's butt and she isn't in the mood...

Aaahh, the risks we take for them Wink

I don't think he's very much impressed with her...
