There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Based on his "concentrated" behavior could be said that he definitly belongs to one of the Indian philosophic systems - vedanta, vaisheshika or nyaya and is not sure which path to follow... He knows that ultimately no cage nor water pool really exist and they are only hallucination...

I do believe it is due to getting more food. As the older drawings showed them with larger manes than today. They probably get good meats. Another reason why i think wild west african lions do not grow large manes is due to heavy historical persecution and continued hunting.

Yes, agree with you, the food they have makes their mane thicker. And as concerns the intensiv hunting which wild african are suffering from, the natur makes some adjustments by making the manes less thick, the rhinos' horns smaller, the elephants' tusk smaller too and so on.

Bateleur Eagles will spend up to 5 weeks building a large nest, 10 to 15 meters above the ground. Lays one egg incubated by both sexes. Chicks hatch at 52-59 days. Their status is near threatened.
