There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

"Having tracked an animal, a tiger will not run long after its quarry. The only exception is the wild boar, which a tiger chases with tenacity; The predator will systematically kill one after the other, until the entire herd has been destroyed. Subsequently, it will set off to find a new herd. Hunters refer to this method of tiger hunting as "grazing" the pigs"...

Ussuri wild boar (Russian boar) are the largest, strongest and most aggressive species of boar on earth, and the tiger has a great 54% success rate at hunting them:

60% of Russian wild boars killed by tigers are adults. 50% of them being male boars, and 50% being females:

"Leopards did not kill wild pig, and dhole rarely killed it, but tigers readily killed large adult boars, which live alone" (Johnsingh):

These large solitary boars which tigers easily killed, are only the huge mature male tusker boars, which live solitary lives. So thats very impressive!

Abha Tewari But tell me can a tiger kill a Rhino ?

Siddharth Singh Yes ma'am at Dudhwa they have killed few adults and feasted on them .. We had a male tiger by the name Rhino Killer .. I think S Mark male also .. has tasted them .. once tired down .. Big tigers will injure the hind legs from back and tear the calf muscle .. should start eating while Rhino is alive

Siddharth Singh Ma'am no one believed that at Dudhwa rhino zone this was happening and blamed Forest Dept for rhino deaths .. An Ex DFO Ganesh Bhatt sir had Camera traps put around the rhino body .. they got Male and Female Sharing kill .. not sure but I think including Cubs 5 tigers came to the feast

Abha Tewari Tell me how do you guess the mood of so called big boy? I mean thru the walk or looks or the famous tiger roar or whatever

Siddharth Singh Ma'am .. if he licks his nose vertically .. sign one .. he is not happy .. Shows canines .. sign two .. he is now making up his mind .. twiches his tail .. the fag end .. last 1ft of his tail .. like a whip .. mind is made up and any second he will come charging .. a loud roar .. hair standing on back and mane .. Better to move and give distance if possible to avoid charge .. or else be focused on the shot ..

Here's the 'Rhino killer' of Dudhwa:

This tiger has killed at least two full-grown adult Rhinos!

Full-grown adult female Rhino killed by a tiger, and a full-grown adult male Rhino killed by a tiger:

"The late Monday night killing is the third instance of a rhino being killed by the roaming big cats in the last 14 months since the killing of a 35 year old male rhino in November 2011 followed by that of a young adult in December 2011. A female rhino named 'Himrani' was attacked and injured by a tiger on December 1, 2011 but managed to survive due to the efforts of the park authorities"...

This bear wasn't killed by a tiger, but by another bear. Talk to Warsaw (Carnivora). He posted this photograph many years ago:

Next time, check your sources. Misinformation is not what we want.

Every single source I've seen regarding that bear picture, stated that it had been killed by a tiger. I've not seen a single source, saying it was killed by another brown bear. Also, I don't post on Carnivora, but you look like you know Warsaw, so if he can send you the source proving it, then that would be great.

All I saw was that the picture was posted on those forums, but no shred of proof was given, that stated that bear was killed by another bear. Some people say that a tiger killed that bear, and some people say that another bear did it. So whats the truth then?

I say a tiger did it, until i'm proved wrong with actual evidence.

@Genghis
No one is obligated to prove anything to you. Do you expect the MODs to do hours of digging & present the original source for you every time you post some incorrect data?
If you're the one posting something disputed, then it's your responsibility to research its origin (The actual one, not some reddit post), failing so, declare its questionable status.

In this case, the image is more than a decade old & have been misposted.

You are being advised against resorting to disrespectful comments & personal attacks. That applies for you too @paul cooper, except you've done it before & won't be receiving any further warnings.
