Tiger - Consuming its kill ( Gaur)

*This image is copyright of its original author
Continuation of the series.... After getting into the bushes... this guy was not seen anywhere...We drove to the other side to its regular pathway...thinking that we may have a face to face experience.... though we waited for sometime we did not find any trace of him .... thinking all was over.... we went a little ahead on the safari track...where in we spotted him inside the bushes feeding on its kill.... In the deepset silence....experiencing such a remarkable event that too in a South indian jungle was simple mindblowing..... Though the feel was amazing....tension was on to our nerves considering the close distance we were in and and also when not able to get a clear capture of such an occuring... but with all this we managed to get as many as shots possible for a remembrance.... the above post showing the tiger tearing a part of flesh from the Gaur and the second showing the Gaur flesh partly in its mouth.... ( Quality of the picture infact needs a regret, but the video coverage we have is indeed clear) The entire surrounding being so silent.... the sound of the Tiger tearing the flesh off from the gaur...Stunning and Evergreen moments they are.... Have used Focal B & W as a part of PP to show a better differentiation of the Tiger with the meat....

=13pxTiger hunting down domestic cattle ( buffaloes) at bandipur tiger reserve, despite so many efforts to stop cattle grazing by FD, it still continues. This tiger is none other than our Prince, who has killed cattle time and again...

Excellent video, sadly that is not complete. What happen at the end? Did he (tiger) hunted the cow, or not?

I have read some old accounts of tigers killing several cows in this way, when they are in a closed space and the tiger enter in a hunting frenzy. Other cats like lions of leopards are reported to do the same.

I'm not sure that we are watching the same video? Wink
The buffalo attempted to spike Raja after raja was already sunk in, even forced raja to a more upright position from when he is laying on his side sinking in the fatal bite, then he gets a a hold behind the neck and looks to break its neck and immobilize it.

All reports state that Raja went on to kill 3 buffalo. And thats why they need to not let them graze in the jungle which is prohibited anyway.
