She is the most photographed tiger in the world.
She as brought in alot of revenue for the indian government.
She played a vital role in tiger conservation.
She attracted alot of people into this and brought awareness among them.
In her prime days she was a great mother, a great hunter, a great ruler and fearless.
She is one of the greatest ambassadors representing tigers and tiger conservation.

She deserves it.

But this is interfering in nature and in the life cycle of tigers and preserving her in such sorry state is not recognition for the queen of the lakes that never hesitated to confront male tigers and crocodiles and established a wonderful tiger dynasty. She should always be remembered as this gorgeous and courageous tigress.
At 19 years of age she is one of the longest living wild tigers and an icon of Ranthambhore.

Rajbhera subadult tigress trying to hunt a gaur at Bandhavgarh.

The hunt wasnt successful and to rub-in insult, the bulls re-group and chase the tigress away.

Game over?

A Sambar deer is oblivious to the fact that she is being watched by Bijli, one of T-19's daughters in Ranthambore. Fortunately for the deer, she lived to see another day.

Chal mere ghode tik tik tik..... One of the Cub out of three of Maya the female Tiger in TATR.. Saw them today as the mother has left the cubs to learn the skills of killing a big animal like this.. First Maya broke ankle of this Gaur and then she left the cubs for learning...

I swear, I feel like I see soo many tigress' making large Guar kills now, it's really impressive.
Is there any doubt that Guar are extremely prevalent on a tigers menu as long as they exist together?

Here's Maya executing the immobilizing blow that allowed the youngsters to practice their killing technique on a massive prey animal like that.

I've always loved Maya but this puts her on a new level for me. Not that she is much different than other tigress' who have done similar feats, just being able see them like this adds to her legend.

Damn look at the size of that gaur.
Thats a huge animal.

This is a very special video.
Ive seen cheetahs, leopards, lions teaching there cubs to hunt smaller animals like impalas, warthogs, thomsons gizzelles, wildbeests etc but Ive never seen them trying on cape buffaloes (if anyone have a footage of cubs practicing on cape buffaloes kindly do share it).
But making her cubs practice on gaur is very special.

Thanks Maya for this wonderful experience.
