There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

When Kinky Tail Mapogo got the name SHAKA
On 5th June 2008, Kinky Tail Mapogo was knighted as Shaka, the greatest warrior of Africa by ranger Pieter Pretorius. Exactly 2 years later (on June 8th June 2010) he showed his braveheart in his last battle and walked into the Legend like a real Spartan, just like all of his 5 brothers. You´ll never walk alone!

There is something called karma, the poachers will feel it some day, I am sure. Dreadlocks will be ready, that much is clear!

The Life of the missing Mapogo Rasta aka Leonidas is one of these stories that have the status of a Legend. The Myth will stay for a long time!

Everything has already been said about Mr T. What remains is the memory of an extraordinary lion who gave everything of himself and lost everything in the end. That is why he has a special place in our hearts. R.I.P.

Maybe Francis Ford Coppola will make a blockbuster from the wild Lion kingdom. Hope our Makhulu will get the main role. Every other comment would be unnecessary.

With the tragic death of the OM daughter and extinction ( inevitable extinction? I'm not up to date ) of the Othawa Pride, it'll be the end of Makhulu's line, right? And the other 3 Mapogos from the west, if whatever of them were one of the fathers of the pride.

It's often said their biggest mistake was to break the coalition in two, but it turns out that thanks to this their legacy will continue through the Mlowathi after how unlucky the descendents of the others were.

Still, it's sad and unfortunately that such great lions that ruled for so long and over so many prides ended up without any descendents just 10 years after their demise.

We do not know if Othawa males, Mapogo sons were successfull or not. We also do not know how 2 Matimba sons and 1 Majingilane son are doing in KNP which makes impossible to answer your question. Also there are still 3 subadult Othawa females around and they seem to be doing ok so far and there is Othawa breakaway female as well.
