I think the problem is that they are still with the pride, so they split when pride or females split, they still dont see each other as coalition partners so that they follow each others , they still think like members of the pride.

Which is a bit strange, as they are at the age where they should move on, but no pressure from DM obiviously or other males so they hang with the pride still.

Similar thing happened with Torchwood young male, he hanged with his sisters to around 4, and then all of a suden moved to Timbavati.

I guess 2 boys will do the same soon, otherwise we might have "Tintswalo males - Mbiri pride" scenario, as young females should be in estrus soon (if some are not already).

Talamatis were on the WE drive this morning. The guide said she counted six so all should be accounted for

Talamati Pride – 30 sightings

From our guides: “A surprising thing was the Talamati sub-adult females joined in with the Talamati breakaways, their 5 cubs and the S8 male and were accepted quite well. So we might see a join up here however the only issue is that the 2 young males are sired by Dark Mane and not by S8 so they wouldn’t be welcomed. So they would have to come back together without the young males.”

"S8 and the Talamati cubs captured a buffalo in the middle of the day - atypical behaviour for lions as they usually hunt at night and rest during the heat of the day.

We found them feeding on the fresh kill during our afternoon game drive..."

Hopefully, the 2 sub-adults form a coalition with dad DM and dominate another pride Wink

Hearing sad reports that only 3 of the 5 S8 cubs from the Breakaway have been seen in recent sightings.
