There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Saltwater Crocodile - Data, Pictures and Videos

@ruimendes1 Post #96 of this thread shows you the skeleton displayed in Bhitarkanika museum. It is one of the largest preserved skeletons of a crocodile ever measuring 19ft 8in. The male itself would have easily surpassed 6 metres. My reckoning would be close to 6.5 metres making it as a clear “monster”.

Bhitarkanika even today houses some of the largest salties. Conservation seems to be more important than measuring and releasing them as it can be a threatening process for everyone involved.

Quote:The giant crocodile was killed in Bintulu, Sarawak, Borneo in 2007. It was 5.8 meters long. The skull is now preserved in the Similan National Park. It is the largest crocodile ever recorded in Malaysia, second only to the famous Bujang Senang.

Quote:The correct size of Old Charlie is 6.20 m making it the second largest specimen ever recorded to date and it can also be seen from the photo that it has a taller and more robust body than Lolong making it probably heavier, the photos in the documents below is evidence of this as they were published by the hunters who killed it and the Ranger who mediated it and by Dr. Adam Britton?
