There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Ya, says the voice of reason.

Lets see what this reasonable poster has said

Copters writes
"don't forget that both Pattewala male and Munna are larger than Langda."

"Also not all central tigers are photographed, you must have seen camera trap pictures from Tadoba & Kanha on tigerluver's blog, how large these tigers are"

you also quoted "munna as being the largest tiger in Kahna"

As well as stating that Waghdoh is
"320kg+" just can't find the thread atm.

You didn't answer my question,
Is what Valmik and Corbett say, not Data?
Have you never used anything they have said to prove a point or debate?
They are not numerical data, but they certainly are DATA.

Ok, without numerical data this discussion is useless :)

For what?
Numerical Data is one form of Data.
All Data is excepted and used. Wether you wan't to use it or not is completely up to you, but still Data none the less.

While I agree with Pckts on most of his views, I condemn the distorted views expressed by the supposedly resident expert here, Roflcopters.

Sorry Sanjay, I'm leaving this forum for good. All the best on your wildphoto venture where I'll continue to contribute as long as you keep that forum inviolate from such troubled souls.

@Vijay Rajan , I can understand your concerns, But this is forum, And a debate is expected. My and Moderators fault is that we have to stop this debate to go at this level.

My request to you is that you can create your own topic here and keep posting your information without interfering others.
The photography section is not a forum, its website. And I can make you believe that, It is full of with lot of sincere people, most of them are wildlife photographer. So that place must be first place for you.

Last thing, If you want to write blog/article You can use http://wildfact.com instead.

I hope you will understand my problem and being my good friend will be with me. I full support you.

It's understandable Sanjay, this thread was pretty much spitting in the face of people who had actually seen these animals.

@Vijay
I really hope you continue to enlighten on Ranth Tigers in the Tiger directory thread if you can.
Your contributions have been greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I've never ever claimed to be an "expert".

Pckts: This topic was entirely to show that Minh ha aka Asianbuffalo aka Tigers of Kanha is a fraud and out of touch with reality with his absurd claims of Tigers being some super natural force weighing up to 400kg, pretty sure I presented all the proof with screen shots of him from youtube and facebook.

Pckts, why don't you try and convince Minh Ha to make his way over here and debate with the likes of Guate and Peter. maybe both of them can knock some sense into his fanatical self. LOL Tigers of 300kg are extreme cases and extremely rare, I don't care if a Tiger from Kaziranga is exceptionally large. I know better to stop with the silly estimates, I've been there. done that and moved on from the childish and foolish act. even experts have hard time guessing Tiger weights and we have facebook experts here judging the pad width, shoulder height, forequarter length and throwing silly weight estimates around. LOL

Im gonna copy paste a reply from Guate from page 2, this is as real as it gets.

Quote:Mmmmm, from what I have saw here, all the famous large tigers in India probably weight between 240 - 260 kg empty, at this time. Maybe Wadogh could weight a little more, up to 270 -280 kg and the Kaziranga giants up to 300 kg in the BEST case only. But normally, a dominant male tiger of 260 kg is already a very large specimen by any standard.

About the body size, I think is very hard to say, as a heavy male could be of just 190 cm in head-body! Sauraha, for example, was only 197 cm but weighed 260 kg, while Dasa from Nagarahole, was of 204 cm but only 227 kg. Taking in count that all these large Indian males seems comparable to the large Amur tigers captured in the field, in body length, I could estimate a body-length of 190 - 205 cm for them, taken in straight line.

This is the problem with the estimations and like Peter said, even experts can't guess correctly the size of these cats, in some occasions.

P.S if someone's offended because i disagree with Munna being all that huge then I suggest you stay mad because Munna is not a 300kg specimen, never was and never would have been. He does not stand 120cm tall or comes off as some strikingly big specimen. Sure, a resident male with a lot of wins to his name. I'll accept that but no way, he was as big as the fanatics like Minh Ha made him out to be.

There is no offense by Vijay to asking you for joining in FB ? At first he was impressed by your knowledge of tiger, but the way you debate not only make him angry but also raise the eyebrows of US.

Can you also post your reply to him ?

I know Vijay better than you, He has real interaction with big cats. Why You Said, "Photographers don't know nothing".

Rofl, I always backed you earlier, But now this is  too much. I don't say anything about your posting regarding munna, But insulting Wildlife Photographer is offense, And this is my last request to you please don't do this to reputed members like Vijay.

I don't recall insulting him, can you show me where i insulted him? He took a jab at me so i just showed how two faced he was being here and going as far as calling me an *expert*. laughable, should i just let everything slide because he's a wildlife photographer and what does real life interaction mean in the scientific field? so if a guy sees a Tiger in the wild, does that give him more authority on tigers? more knowledge on their anatomy? I am sorry but i said nothing that should've offended him or anyone in the first place, this whole topic was made to have a discussion with Pckts and we did just that. even when we were done with this topic, me and Pckts got a long just fine and that's how you deal with things professionally imho. there are disagreement and agreements everywhere.

I am done replying on this topic, I didn't even know this was still going until i saw it on the news feed.

You insulted Photographer and other person whom pckts presented as his backup. You didn't said anything directly to Vijay, But you insulted photographers and He is big name in Indian wildlife photographer community.
You didn't showed your reply to him ?
By looking your previous wonderful information he considered you as expert but when he saw you have no respect for other in your words, he got hurt.

We are not saying you believe on anyone claim, either photographer, expert or anyone. Point is you should not insult anyone claims like you did in this thread. Your language used for other who don't agree with you is offensive.

I am putting last word here and this topic is closed.
