Photos taken in July 2022. These two male lions were beautiful, but let us remind that even in their prime an apex predator's life is fragile. A big black-maned lion can nothing do against a coalition of 3 males weighing only 180 kilograms each... May be, such a male watched from afar by three young males searching a new territory to invest, becomes an easy target to bring down.

Furthermore, Seenka is known for his very long, large and thick (while Kini has a blonde) mane, with his fully-wrapped black elbow tufts - such the infamous late 4'km male Lipstick had last time in the Mara, although they are not related... 2 of the Offbeat young males sired by Olerai and Olekiti are roaming Naboisho. Maybe well see any of them be as huge as Olerai just like Lemurt! I agree, Lemurt is HUGE!
There are not many lions who could have mastered and survived such a fate. Notch's grandson is one of them. Hats off!
Chongo and Halftail had an encounter after Chongo came back into his old territory. A fight of some degree took place but fortunately nothing serious came of it as Chongo left and went back to the River Line pride. Halftail was seen with the Marsh Pride afterwards as well.
Koshoke and Kibo (could have been Kiok) were back inside Marsh territory again by Governors Camp.
