I don't know who is this male lion (it isn't Earless)... The title is not probably right and this video dates from february 2019. But it's a gorgeous lion !

"  This image evoked so many adjectives; Stunning, majestic, awesome, powerful, wise, sad, magnificent. In reality it's a moment in time, and image of a dominant male in his element, living as he should ".

I'm just reasonning "on line".
Masai Mara: 1510 km2
In the protected areas, a lion each 7km2 is counted. Thus the lion number in the Masai Mara would be around 220.
220 lions, big quantity of preys for them, so big prides... At first sight, 10-12 coalition of 20 beasts each...
But this estimation doesn't take into account the number of nomadic males waiting for dethroning the dominant males of pride which become a little bit old. Each pride counts 2-4 dominant males. If we consider an average of 3 dominant males/pride, thus approyimately 36 big males ruling over a pride inside Masai Mara. I consider they will be numerically replaced, each of them by a nomadic male which would have survived this hard stage of life.
I don't consider the males expelled from their pride, they have performed their roles and their days, henceforth, are counted.
By the way, 220 lions approximately inside the Masai Mara Reserve, around thirty of which are nomadic... So it remains around 190 lions belonging to a pride. A pride of 20 lions, starting hypothesis.
(A small pride wouldn't sustain the competition with a bigger one, and a very big pride, more than 30 lions would tend to divide into 2 smaller ones).
Thus the number of lion coalitions in the Masai Mara Reserve doesn't exceed 10. In my opinion...

To be corrected, if you have objections...
