Avocas did initially accept Big Boy, just as they did earlier with NK male, and allow them to hang with the pride, but when 2 young males come to an age of maturity, Avocas where starting to act agressive towards them and chasing them, this is normal behavior even for father-son relationship.

I would say that Avocas where even more tolerate towards Big Boy then towards NK, prob because of his more "submissive" behavior.

Big Boy was son of Golden Mane Majingilane.

@Mabingilane and @Tr1x24 thank you both. In one of the videos I saw about Big Boy, it was said that he had to leave every time the Avocas returned to the pride, so I assume that was later in the relationship, as mentioned. Big Boy remains one of the saddest stories, really heartbreaking stuff.

That is the reason I don't want to dig into the stories of Big Bog and Queen Sparta with her sub and many others. Very sad.

Terribly sad, i still remember the video of big boy sitting on the termite mound or something and he was calling for the nkuhuma male. I have never heard such a sad sound come from a lion's call.

I will never forget big boy, he was a damn warrior. I remember when he & Nkuhuma male were attacked by Mohawk & they both got him pretty bad.

Big boy was a tough tough boy.  They had so many fights with hyenas after leaving the mangheni pride and they often looked all beat up with bite marks back in 2018.  It got to the point later on where Big boy would not even flinch anymore while hyenas were nipping at his hind legs.

Out of all the Mangheni 12, we have just Big Boy's sister and younger cousin.

Hello,

So there are three older lionesses, from the original four? Then the two younger lionesses from the 12cubs? And the Othawa sub adult? There is one older lioness with the Tsalala princess. So who is missing? One of the young lionesses from the 12cubs?

The Missing Lioness (now presumed dead) is one of the three Mapogo daughters that is also the mother of the OM Sub Adult. The Pride at the moment is split in three groups:

Group 1 = Tinya, and the Two Mhangeni 12 sisters
Group 2 = One Mapogo Daughter alone with the sub adult.
Group 3 = The third Mapogo daughter is with Tsalala.

So there are only two of the original 4 Mhangeni alive today.
Thank you! Group three is good the Tsalala lioness. Was there something that happened causing the split? Hopefully group 1 and 2 get back together.

The video posted in post #156, reports that a clash with the PC males caused them to split.

What I read was they had a run in with lionesses from the Kambula pride

Man, i feel sick.

Apparently, Birmingham males (Nhenha & NK) seen back in the West.
Mangheni pride seen together and have lost the last cub/sub adult (daughter of Othawa Male).

I really hope this is wrong. But it was posted on FB regarding the latest updates from the West over the last few days.

I hate this. I have never witnessed so much bad news so frequently in all my years following lion dynamics.

Is this the same person behind the recent FB posts regarding the demise of two Othawa cubs, only to find out later they were in fact fine? I seem to recall a post similar to this one, of screen shots from FB as source for those claims, but that post now seems to have been deleted. I do hope this is incorrect information again.

1/2 old mangheni female has indeed returned to the core pride it is claimed. some reports claim it is the female who left with the sub. But Londolozi has said it was the Mangheni female who was with princess Tsalala, as the female looks pregnant.

We just have to wait and see. Once i hear more,  i will share it.

Either way, Princess Tsalala is alone again for now... Or, Othawa male's daughter is missing.

@criollo2mil  thank you for finding the post!

Please do let us know if/when you hear anything else, but as you mentioned either way it sounds like something terrible may have happened.

Definitely my friend!

Hopefully we will get some good news for once.

Sad to think that Princess Tsalala is likely alone again.
