Othawa junior was seen yesterday in Kruger, although they couldn't see another lion with him because a car came in front to chase off the hyenas that were seen harassing him..

Gotta say, I feel like Nhlanguleni vs Makulu was a win for Nhlanguleni.

He went back to his pride, as their still dominant male. Makulu went back to his brothers, still a nomad.

Three Talamati females are at the Waterhole when the male appears. At first it is presumed to be Dark Mane. But he can't be in 2 places at the same time.
At the Kudu kill the leopard has just been chased up a tree by  a lion - so who is who? When it is all sorted out it is Dark Mane at the Kill while S8 is with three Talamati females. The 2 big males are not that far from each other - one is at Galego pan while the other is closer to the Djuma dam about a half hour walk away.

S8 and his Talamati trio are retracing the steps of the lionesses and heading out of Djuma. As of nightime it didn't look like there would be any confrontation with Dark Mane. But never say never. S8 is a lone male while Dark Mane is a member of a coalition. He was seen with his brothers recently on a carcass -there are videos out there showing the brothers together. It is true that the 3 Avocas are not often seen together but Dark Mane does have backup.

Do you have more detail about the sighting? Who saw it? Was there a post on Instragram, any pics etc ?

Thanks.

I think that video is a bit to blurry to make any real identification, but if its him its probably the first sign of life in weeks.
Unfortunately its again of him alone. I think sans Gingerella his fellow coalitions partners haven't been seen in months now . But with dark Kruger you never know.

Its a pity a car interrupted the sighting. It would have been interesting to see how this would have played out further.

I think at this point we can count him more as a Kruger lion than a Sabi Sands one.

Hi, unfortunately, no. I even tried to find the location where it was filmed but to no avail. It would be nice if someone had filmed that male closely to make a positive identification, because I'm a bit skeptical about that male being Othawa jr, to be honest.
Now @Duco Ndona and @criollo2mil had already posted the link to the footage and a picture of the male.

Unfortunately. It is a private Instagram account. Which means the link won't work for us and just to someone who follow that account

How do you mean alone again? On last sighting he was with 1 mini Matimba.
