Its also going to depend on what the Nkuhumas are going to do.

The Kambullas may not see the Avocas as a problem for the time being. But if the Nkuhumas follow them south its going to be a different matter.

Id hate to see a mayor fight between the two prides.

Adult females can freely mate with borth coalitions and in the future stay with the victorious one (which btw bassicly they did when Matimbas clashed with Matshapiris) and the subs of the pride can already go nomadic

Well, subadults will definitely run away from N. Avocas south, idk for adult females, few of them already have new cubs and denning.. Quite complicated situation..

Why would you think that DM who himself by the guides words is big indyvidual himself would stand no chance against him? Even with his injury I believe DM will be able to out intimidate most single males.

Where did I say he is above average or bigger then DM? I said he is a beast, on few videos of him from Manyeleti and WE guides are impressed by him, i also personally think he is quite a specimen and to me he doesnt look any less impressive then DM, so i dont know about that if he will get intimidated..and if he doesn’t get intimidated, DM has no chance in a fight with injured leg like that, and thats my whole point..

If new males dont pressure Nkuhumas and threat their youngsters , they have no reason to follow Avocas.

The incident referred to in that clip is the Talamatis, who keep going way outside their home range, running into a KRUGER male. And of course they would.. that's not their territory.

Also Dark Mane didn't ignore the situation. Just two days ago he came charging in roaring when the Nkuhumas had an interaction with the PC males. When this "incident" happened Dark Mane was in Arathusa, passed through Djuma for 10 minutes and then went north. How would he know about a random incident that happened on Torchwood? This guide seems to think Dark Mane is telepathic.

Dark Mane did his job with the Talamatis and raised 9 cubs to adulthood... possibly a 100% success rate. He's moved on. He spends most of his time in the west scoping out new lands and females. At this point the pride needs to take care of themselves. In one year maybe new males will move in completely but this is like the most basic of lion dynamics... it happens every two years in this area.

This is becoming the most most drummed up non-event.. "Imbali male" vs "Dark mane".... I'm convinced Dark Mane doesn't even know about the existence of the Imbali Male who is about 5-10 km away from him at any give time. I'm way more interested in the south and not where Dark Mane is taking his next nap.

I dont think there was any narrative against DM before, as there was no other males close to his territory..

I agree that DM did his job with Talamatis, he doesnt need to protect them anymore, but for his sake he needs a pride, with that injury he is prob limited in hunting, and if his brothers move of south, he might get left behind without a pride and its unknown if Nkuhumas will accept him with all these youngsters around, so sticking close to Talamatis for food is not a bad option for now, until he finds new pride..

But its not likely that Imbali male will push further south, he is prob just taking advantage of vacant area and gathering some females to mate, he has massive pride already in Imbali pride with a lots of cubs, so he prob wont ditch them yet.

Actually every time males moved through his territory (Nharus, Mbiris) I think people feared most for DM. I agree a true coalition is a treat to any lone male, but also if a dominant male can't scare away a few 4 year olds, which is what they were, he's pretty useless as a dominant male. Imbali Male, again, is not a threat. They are equally matched and will avoid any direct confrontation.

"with that injury he is prob limited in hunting" < yet we have seem him charge a herd of buffalo on his own in Dec, and actively hunt with the pride. He's in better shape most days than Blondie, and despite being away from the pride for up to 3 weeks is always in great condition. I think he hunts more than we think.

"unknown if Nkuhumas will accept him with all these youngsters around" < that's true for the older lionesses but I think the younger lionesses will acknowledge him as a potential father of their cubs. When the older lionesses come into estrus soon then basically the male that's there is their new dominant male if the other two are completely gone.

Idk why you guys even consider that Nkuchuma pride would not accept DM. DM is potentiall father of any of the Nkuchuma subs. Also with DM hanging out in the Djuma arena nowdays he is a natural candidate to father next generation in this pride.

Well they might in future when they came in estrus again, but rn prob not because of youngsters, he might have mate with them, but he was not around for almost 1.5 yrs with them and they prob see him as intruder as they where under control of Mohawk/Blondie, and those 2 operate as different coalitions..

Ranger on WildEarth said other night that Nkuhumas, when both DM on Djuma and Mohawk/Blondie down south where roaring, immidiately started moving south towards M/B, that they found DM roar as hostile..

3 younger females and their offspring might accept him tho, as he was seen with them recently..

If it happened on Cheetah Cutline it must be the Torchwood male, the S8 male was all the way near the manyeleti border at Broken Dam

Yep, too far south for Imbali male.

It was confusion because at first they called Imbali/S8 male Torchwood/Kruger male (because they didn't know who he was), but now they call him S8 male and Kruger male they call Torchwood male.

Because they where not sure if S8 male is one of Kruger/Torchwood males or not.

Its good to have some male lion activity in the north and on WE, basically since Mhangeni Big Boy and Nkuhuma male in late 2019 there was nothing going on..

OM roaring and scent marking around Londolozi airstrip this morning, he was seen mating with Kambula lioness yesterday, who prob rejoined the pride over night, so he is trying to attract her back, that also might be the reason of Nhenha patroling in Londolozi this evening :

What a specimen of the male lion, his roars are also fantastic, very loud, but he needs to be careful around Bboys and Avocas.

I am not sure careful is OM's way, given his history of mating with the Kambulas in the past. An incredible male, doing it on his own for a long time now.

Well as for Kambula lioness, this female mate with many others lions around, and as for now he didn't face any serious challenge so on his own yes because no one come to him...
