Just 4.

Hairy Belly Matimba is a living legend on his own,the age doesn't matter,if HB is 15 years old It's OK and if HB Isn't 15 years old also It's OK!

Hairy belly Matimba is above 15 years old and has been confirmed by Western sabisands rangers. That should be it. Matimba Males become dominant in 2010 and It's 2020 now. Any sensible person would know that he should have been around 4.5 or 5 or above 5 years old to be a dominant Male Lion in 2010.

Those pictures which some claim to be Hairy Belly have no proof so far. Pictures have no authentication on who took them and when did he took them. Its not confirmed if they are really Hairy Belly. We can’t genetically prove that.

We don't know for sure. We speculate he is between 14 and 15 but we can't be sure. The same goes for the Birmingham Males. Everyone says Nhenha and Tinyo are born in 2010 but we don't know for sure. One ranger once said that Nsuku was about 6 months older than the rest making the other 4 atleast born in late 2010 to 2011. We can't say for sure because unlike these days, they kept very little track. Even Makhukus age is controversial. We don't know if he was born in 1997 or 1998. So there is no purpose in fighting over their age. Just let their reigning years speak for itself. HB has been a dominant male for about 8-9 years now (he wasn't always dominant in the last 10 years). That itself is a great feat.

Hey all- new here. Just wanted to see if anyone can help me understand what's going on with the Styx pride. Of all the subadults they had in 2017 (I think it was around 10) did 8 of them pass away? So now it's just 2 adult females, and 1 young male + 1 young female? And does anyone know how some/all of them died?

That's really tragic for a pride that already lost their entire 2016 litter to mange and had the 2015 litter killed...

Thanks for any information you may have.

I haven't heard any word that the younger lionesses in the Mhangeni Pride have given birth.  Is this true?  Seems the older ones are breeding again.  The younger ones would be 4.5 to 5 years old now....high time for their first litter.  Sassy had her first at around 3.7 years old.  These would be the Majingalane daughters.  The pride has 5 females, yea?  How many were from the Mapogos? 2? And one from a Birmingham Male.  And 2 from Majing.??

I'm not indicating that they are infertile.  Each lioness has their own timetable for having cubs.  Some could be late bloomers....  Even though the Othawa Male has been with the pride for years now, they haven't bred with him yet.  Just curious if someone knows anything about this?  I believe one of them has at least mated with him since I saw footage of that....but such an occurrence was quite some months ago.

And what about the Sparta female and her cub?  We have heard nothing about them for too long almost.  She was getting old and her cub was very vulnerable, younger even then the Tsalala cub.

Somewhen in 2018 Torchwood pride pushed into territory of Styx pride - northern Mala Mala. There were couple of interactions between two prides. Torchwood was much larger pride and so Styx pride was taking worst end of any interactions between those two pride. I do not remember exact amount of loses among Styx pride, but they did lost some members by that time. It was two members or so. Then they decided to leave their territory holded for years and went nomadic. Through nomadic stage this pride also lost some members, most likely to an alteractions with other lions in the arena, Now from the generation sired by Birmingham males there are two females and one male left. Pride also has two older lionesses and so there are currently 4 females in the pride.

"The pride has 5 females, yea?  How many were from the Mapogos? 2? And one from a Birmingham Male.  And 2 from Majing.?? "

There are 3 females sired by eastern Mapogos, 2 sired by Majingis and 1 sub adult sired by Birminghams.

New generation perhaps?

One of the Male lions from the Kruger National Park, have been seen mating with a Torchwood female. The Torchwood pride haven't had good luck with cubs in the last two years so it would be great to welcome new cubs to the area.
