There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I always hate it when a powershift occurs due to man's actions. When it happens naturally and organically it is interesting. I hope Ncile is able to fully recover, but given the shift in power dynamics he'll have a long tough road to become the dominant male of the Tintswalo coalition and the Mbiri Pride again.

True, but in this case, no major shift has happened. Ncile just as currently healing up lost position as the most dominant of the Tintswalo coalition, but he is still part of the coalition which still owns arena they ussed to own and they still rule the pride they ussed to rule.

Around 10 to 12 subadults, some of them look like the Mbiri males

He's a cub sired by the previous dominant males of the pride, the Orpen Males. The Tintswalo males have accepted them as their own, I think this is just Mandevu throwing his weight around, he didn't continue pursing the youngster after he made his point

Like Tonpa said, Orpen males both died suddenly in quick succesion (one was later contributed to anthrax and the other one was in poor condition for some time already and dissapeared soon after). Litter of two was born posthummusly into Mbiri pride, male and female. Tintswalos (still 4 of them back then), who were born into Mbiri pride (except Lambile who was accepted into it) before and was kicked out by Orpen males (who were not their fathers), were still around and with Orpen males gone, they returned to their natal pride, still young and likely acted like those two are their new siblingsmore than anything and were yet to act dominantly, probably happy to be home ... and then no males were around to kick them out, so they eventually took over. That is at least how I understood the situation.
