Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

The two Bayala males when walked together before Scarface (Bayala) was brutally murdered by the Northern males.

"Three years ago I arrived here @andbeyondphinda and three years ago these lions had just taken over the mountains and the plains of the southern and western parts of the reserve. At the time their manes were short and red but together they ousted the old male who had previously held the territory. In these past three years we have watched their manes lengthen and darker with age and confidence. We’ve watched them father cubs and commandeer carcasses... unfortunately we have even watched as one of them met his undoing in a battle with their territorial rivals... who knows what year four will bring??"

The Stunning Tryggve - "One of two kings of the Serengeti, introducing Bob Juniors Brother, although he hasn’t had the same kind of fame that Bob has experienced this is definitely one of the most impressive dominant males in the Serengeti. He is intense and powerful I can not wait to spend many more days on Safari with my guests in his presence."

The Ngweshla male coalition!!

“Humba and Netsayi had been apart for two days doing their territory patrols. ln this picture taken in the early morning, they were doing a friendly reunion gesture before joining the rest of the pride of 25 lions.

Humba and Netsai are from different prides and Netsayi is one year younger than Humba. Humba and Netsai formed a male coalition to subdue Bhubesi and take over his pride. A coalition leads to greater success in maintaining the pride and offers the chance of greater reproductive success.”

"The Sirtracks Pride - Six adult lionesses were reintroduced into Coutada 11 from Makalali Game Reserve in South Africa. After their release, they split into two groups, one of which became known as the Sirtracks which consisted of two females.
In April 2019, the females gave birth to 7 cubs total, which we believe were fathered by the Moz Male. However, due to collar failures, we lost track of this pride for just over 1 year. In October 2020, we located the pride again and re-collared both mothers. The offspring are now 26 months old and on the verge of becoming reproductively mature. The pride spends the majority of their time in the southern part of Coutada 11’s floodplain edge."

Those Bayala Males look like identical twins in this photo.  Very distinctive features.  Hope the remaining one can keep his pride long enough for his youngsters to come of age.
